Comic Travel Note: 'Hu-nan-a-la' Makes a Grand Return, Don't Miss It...
In the spring of March, I finally had a long-awaited week-long holiday for myself... Of course, I had to go on a trip immediately!
[Hunan] Initially, because I couldn't eat spicy food, I was always afraid of this place, didn't dare to go, thinking I wouldn't eat well... Haha, but now, the unique charm of western Hunan has moved me time and time again, okay!!! [Let's go!] The Hunan team~~~
※ First, I want to thank my parents for giving me all kinds of help and support every time I travel!
※ Second, thanks to my supportive colleagues and fans! I hope the travel notes I bring you this time are the most exciting!
※ Finally, thanks to my two close friends who took time out of their busy schedules to accompany me! My trip is more wonderful because of you!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The following is a sneak peek of the comic travel notes!
↑This is the cover I drew earlier↑
Comic travel notes seem to have become an important part of my travels, like an alarm clock, telling me that before the day ends, I must draw everything I saw, heard, and felt that day. Of course, photos also record, but the paintbrush allows me to express myself better.
[Cover] The original cover was in color, and I thought about drawing a color one this time, but after thinking it over, I felt that black and white was easier to express for the day's completion. So I drew this. The meaning is [Go as you please, we are still young]
[Planning] I did my homework before leaving, so based on our time, weather, etc., I made a plan route and general direction for sightseeing. Of course, I'm back now. I can only say... plans never keep up with changes!!!!! Completely different!! What a rip-off, right?!
[Gathering] For the first time, I flew alone from Dalian to Changsha, with a stop in Zhengzhou. But I have to say, China Southern's domestic routes are still very reliable, not delayed at all~~ Much better than international routes [You know the unlucky Flight 675 that's always delayed]
Wan'er: Shenyang - Changzhou - Changsha [China Southern] Arrived on time
Xiaobing: Xiangyang - Changsha [Train] Arrived a bit late
And so, the three-person Hunan trip began...
[Day 1] On March 23, we excitedly went to the first stop of our plan, the Hunan Provincial Museum.. Damn, what a rip-off right from the start! The website didn't mention construction at all!!! What a scam!! But this time we learned that we have to say goodbye to Mawangdui until 2015~ But on the way here, I, who always like to look around, spotted a park not far from the museum. Since we're here, let's check it out. It's [Martyrs' Park]. The weather was gloomy, the park was not small, and it was free. Hehe, we took a short stroll and then went to eat [A foodie, no explanation needed]. To be honest, in Changsha, taxis are really hard to get. All kinds of private cars ask you, but it's not expensive anyway, so we basically took private cars these days. Then we arrived at the famous Huangxing Pedestrian Street, which was under construction everywhere. The first local specialty we ate was [Tangyou Baba]. Actually, it felt like fried cake, but the outer layer of oil was so sweet. Hoo hoo, it drizzled lightly in the evening, so we went to a well-known specialty restaurant [Huogongdian]↓
[Huogongdian] Whenever people talk about Changsha snacks, they mention this place, so how could we miss it? There were so many people, it was really popular!! I drew the full eating method, which is the process~~ I was quite interested in those pushcarts, haha, very interesting. The stinky tofu was really good!!
[Hotel] We stayed at a place called 'Qintian MINI' hotel, group-bought at 109/person. Changsha is a nightlife city, with large shopping malls closing after 9 or 10 PM, and snacks even more so. If you want to eat, you’ll definitely find it. [Iron plate potatoes] [Grilled squid] [Fried tofu] were all good! But so spicy~~~ The pen I brought this time was bought at 'Muji', 8 yuan each, and the notebook was also from Muji, a gift from Sister Feifei~ Mwah.
[Day 2] In the morning, we took the train to Zhangjiajie Station. Dammit, they confiscated my hair gel!! My hairstyle!! Around noon, we arrived at the legendary Zhangjiajie. The weather was nice, NICE. Zhangjiajie's grandeur was truly stunning. When you get to Wulingyuan, you're at Zhangjiajie. The ticket allows re-entry within 3 days because the mountain fog is so thick that you often can't see anything. If it were only a 1-day trip, it would be a loss. By the way, we signed up for a 2-day, 1-night tour to explore Zhangjiajie. After arriving, they ask if you want to check your luggage, which costs 20 yuan per piece, regardless of size. Since we were staying overnight in the mountains, we opted for luggage check!↓
[Zhangjiajie] It was hot going up the mountain in the afternoon, but our excitement couldn't be stopped. Our principle for climbing was: if we can take a vehicle, we definitely don't walk. We chose to explore the Yuanjiajie area and took the Bailong Elevator. Haha, it was awesome. Overlooking the Imperial Brush Peak of Zhangjiajie was simply breathtaking. The power of nature is so majestic. Since it had been raining a few days before, the layers of mist and the mountains complemented each other, with the forests dyed in layers. I wanted to shout [Wow~~~ There's a demon!!!] Haha, at night we stayed in the mountains.. You know. Damn, it was so cold! Xiaobing and I covered ourselves with two thick cotton quilts! The meals with this tour group were mostly home-cooked by the farmers themselves~
[Ten Mile Gallery] This morning, the fog was very thick, with drizzling rain~~~ First, we saw General He Long's bronze statue up the mountain. He's from Hunan, right~ Then we took the cable car down from Tianzi Mountain. The fog was so thick that we couldn't see the scenery. %>_<% What a pity. Down the mountain was [Ten Mile Gallery]. We walked part of the way. It was good to exercise in the early morning. We saw various named and unnamed stone mountains~~ Nature is amazing~ I roughly drew the shapes above and even gave them names myself. Haha, welcome to check if they really look like that!! _<%] Then we bought some delicious donuts and so on, as well as Egg Tart King!! Same as the one on Zhongshan Road in Xiamen!! Bought 10 directly! Cheap and delicious, right! I was so full... They also bought milk tea, and we went back to rest~_<% Nice] _<% Oh, my dad suddenly said he wants to go to Tibet. Looks like my next stop is not far off. Holy Tibet, I hope you still look forward to my works, mwah]
Changsha, called 'Tanzhou' in ancient times, is a famous city of Chu and Han, a city of mountains and waters, and a capital of happiness. As one of China's first historical and cultural cities, Changsha has a splendid 3,000-year history of ancient city civilization and is the birthplace of Chu-Han civilization and Huxiang culture. The world archaeological wonder 'Mawangdui Western Han Tombs' was unearthed here. Changsha is now the capital of Hunan Province, the political, economic, cultural, transportation, and scientific education center of Hunan, and the leading city of the Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan city cluster. Changsha is an important major central city in southern China. With the deepening of the 'Rise of Central China' strategy and the integration of Chang-Zhu-Tan, Changsha (Chang-Zhu-Tan), as a national comprehensive supporting reform pilot zone for a two-oriented society (resource-conserving and environment-friendly), shoulders the historical mission of leading the country's cities towards sustainable development and setting an example. At the same time, Changsha is committed to building itself into the most open inland city, a culturally famous city with significant international influence, and a world-class tourist destination.
↑Nonsense above↑
This is the first stop [Hunan Provincial Museum], but it's under renovation, alas [Martyrs' Park] There were quite a few people inside, it seems locals often come [Martyrs' Tower] It kind of reminds me of the White Jade Pagoda in Lushun, Dalian~~ Haha [Corner of the park] I don't know what lake it is.. But everyone can see it was cloudy [Pendant] My cute Thai boxer pendant, bought by my sister for me in Thailand~ HOHO [Street scene] There are many old houses like this in Changsha, obviously with many stories. Most of the old houses in Dalian have been demolished [Tangyou Baba] The unremarkable little shop had a long line of people. Whether it's good or not, seeing this scene, a saying came to mind [Delicious food is among the people] Buy buy buy~ [Sharing] Hot Tangyou Baba is actually quite tasty, one for each person, not filling HOHO [Picnic] Bought bread in case we get hungry tomorrow going to Zhangjiajie. [Bread Talk]'s [Huangxing Pedestrian Street] Small panoramic view taken on the bridge. Today is Saturday, so many people~~~~ so many cars [Bronze statue] The bronze statue on the left is Huang Xing. Why this angle? Well, if I went any lower, there would be all people!! All people, right! Fortunately, I don't have trypophobia! But coming here feels a bit like being on Zhong Street in Shenyang, haha
[Huogongdian] Huogongdian is near Huangxing Pedestrian Street, easily found on foot. A very popular snack shop with a long history [Fire fire] The architectural style of Huogongdian is really nice~~ [Chairman Mao] Chairman Mao is everywhere, right~ Shiny gold [Rainy day, my hairstyle is terrible] [Fiery red] The courtyard inside is like a big opera performance, haha [Snacks] In the early evening, there were quite a few people here [Features] After ordering from the menu, we saw these little pushcarts; you can also call them over to buy~~
Zhangjiajie is a prefecture-level city in Hunan Province, located in the northwest of Hunan, in the upper reaches of the Lishui River, within the hinterland of the Wuling Mountains, and is one of China's most important tourist cities. In September 1982, Zhangjiajie became China's first national forest park. In August 1988, Wulingyuan was included in the second batch of 40 key national scenic spots. In 1992, the Wulingyuan Natural Scenic Area, composed of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, Suoxiyu Scenic Area, and Tianzi Mountain Scenic Area, was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
↑Nonsense above↑
[Zhangjiajie] The grandeur starts as soon as you enter Wulingyuan~
[Selfie] The weather was really nice; at noon you could wear short sleeves~~ [Entering] After entering Zhangjiajie, you pass by this Golden Whip Stream~~ Take a photo! YE [Three travelers] These are the two live wires accompanying me~ Xiaobing and Wan'er~~ HOHO~ Taken by the guide [Monkey] Hey~ The Great Sage is here [Wulingyuan] Majestic Wulingyuan [Plaque] Chinese people are very fond of inscriptions on tablets; we take photos at every one [Golden Whip Stream] Just such a small stream [Rock formations] The power lines on the left really spoil the scenery, but I don't like to Photoshop them out. Nature is nature, beautiful and magnificent. I can't find the words to describe it
[Overwhelming] Zhangjiajie is full of such beautiful scenery [Bailong Elevator] The world's first elevator~~ Very fast, very fast~~ [Overlooking] Lucky no one else was in the elevator when we took it~ Not crowded. Off-peak season is great [Afternoonの] The sun gradually set, and the colors became warmer [Yuanjiajie] Another inscription tablet [Cliff] If you're not careful, you'd fall off without even knowing haha
[Group photo] A rare group shot~~
[Rabbit rock] I thought it looked like a big rabbit [Ten Mile Gallery] You can choose to walk this wooden boardwalk or take the train~ a bit expensive[XX flower] What flower is this... [Cable car] Going down from Tianzi Mountain in the early morning... The visibility was really... bad [Morning mist] General He Long's statue in the morning mist [Bridge] At first I thought it was a reflection on the lake [Danger] Almost stepped on air, but my finger was still on the shutter, took the shot haha [Incense stick] Really looks like an incense stick!
[Towering rocks] The rocks are also very shapely
Phoenix Ancient City is a national historical and cultural city, one of the first batch of China's top tourism counties, a national 4A scenic spot, once praised by the famous New Zealand writer Rewi Alley as the most beautiful small town in China. Its geographical location can be summarized as: 'West holds Yunnan and Guizhou, east controls Chenzhou and Yuanzhou, north governs Sichuan and Hubei, south blocks Guangxi border.' It is adjacent to Dehang Miao Village in Jishou, Mengdong River in Yongshun, and Fanjing Mountain in Guizhou, and is a必经之路 between Huaihua, Jishou, and Tongren in Guizhou. As a national historical and cultural city, Phoenix's scenery naturally and culturally blends together; the sense of weight after透视 may be the essence of its charm that attracts tourists from all directions. The ancient city was built during the Kangxi reign of the Qing Dynasty. This 'Pearl of Western Hunan' is truly 'small' to the point of having only one decent east-west street, but it is a green corridor. The new ticket policy implemented from April 10, 2013 has a 'fine-tuning': students only need 20 yuan to visit Phoenix Ancient City.
[YE, of course I went before April 10! What a rip-off charge! Unreasonable! If it's free, I can go many times. Charging clearly means the government doesn't want us to go again.]
[Night view] Just as we entered Phoenix, we were captivated by the charming night view~
[Southern Great Wall] Just a souvenir, nothing else [Small waterfall] A small waterfall in the village
[Master's magic] It was really amazing!! I held the bamboo pole steady! The master made the bamboos cross without touching them!
[Sitting in a row] Tall and short [Reflection] The only regret this time was not bringing a tripod because it was heavy, so the night shots were basically ruined, but I'll still post one as a souvenir [Night view] Corner of the ancient city [Reflection] It's been raining lately, the ground is all wet
[Red leaves] An unknown plant, but I like the color [Accommodation] Along this road leads to our lodging [It's me] Well, big face, smida!! It's me!! [Yipin Fish Village] As drawn in the comic: stone pot fish, iron plate tofu, bandit chicken, stir-fried bamboo shoots with cured meat [Reflection] If not blurry, it would be really beautiful. Ah ah, a little regret [Night night night] When it's dark, it's dark; when it's light, it's light [Fire JJ] Miao brother's performance... Heavy taste! [Fire baby] Spitting fire, the flame is beautiful [Cookie says] I don't know why every time I see this, it looks like you're a Miao girl haha, especially like a poster! Haha [Participation] I joined the activity and they gave me a necklace! Oh YE
[Head wrap] Miao girl demonstrates how to wrap a headscarf [Suspension bridge jump] Well, I'm a hyperactive cat Huohuo! [Village] Miao village [Boating] I like looking down [Intentional] I made it like this on purpose; I don't know why, but seeing ancient cities makes me want them to look a bit old [I am me] A silly youth has lots of joy [Belongs to Phoenix] There are thousands of ancient cities, but only Phoenix is unique
[Child] A feeling of lighting up hope
[New road] Night market food stalls
[Glutton tribe] We are all from the glutton tribe!! We ate everything, including a plate of vegetables etc!! By the time we wanted to take a photo, it was already gone!!! [Guess this scene] I waited for this kitty to jump for a full 5 minutes, holding my camera, feeling that it would jump soon. Because it was staring at a button-sized bee! But in the end, a passing innocent girl scared the kitty away! Oh NO! Regret [Water level gauge] 1234, 1234, rising up! Hey [Boatman] There are two types of boating in the ancient city: one is negotiable, the boats of the city's own boatmen at 10/person, basically OK; the other is official! One upstream and one downstream, different routes~~ But both feel the same, boating on the Tuo River! [Livelihood] I wonder if they can still make money since the charging started on the 10th? Because the charging includes boating on the Tuo River~ Sigh [That day] The weather was great that day, very vivid, very colorful [On the ancient city road] Standing on the North Gate [Crispy sticks] Very sweet and tasty! [Signboard] Like this signboard~~ Written by Premier Zhu [Culture Square] One big phoenix! [Specialty] Roast suckling pig~ [Character] Selling cured meat with such personality! [Signboard] I don't know why I watched them pecking at themselves for 5 minutes! [Waving] Chairman Mao is really everywhere [Folk craft] What is ethnic is global! [Old] I've always wanted to take a black and white set! Next time I'll definitely try~ The ancient city should be like this [Performance art] Very distinctive people, heard they're always there~ Very artistic [Imperfection] Sometimes imperfection is perfection [Passing by] The boat that came into the frame makes it more vivid [Handmade shoes] Masters are among the people[Stilted buildings] Phoenix's characteristic building [Rainbow Bridge] There were people everywhere below, so I only took this half [Layers] Actually this is a portrait hahaha. The highlight!

[Si Aijie] Famous Si Aijie's flavored shrimp, flavored crab, and fish head pot! All at Nanmenkou~~
[Xiangqun Pot Stickers] Also a quite famous old shop! Bought 5 yuan worth~~ to try [Si Aijie] The storefronts are not big, but the taste is great. Next to it is Jinling Rice Noodles~ Xiaobing said it's also super delicious
[AI Evening Pavilion] Introduction. I really like the way this 'Ai' character looks [Pavilion] Rarely few people, took a photo
[Greenery] I really feel the greenery of Yuelu Mountain is great!! [A memorial] The legendary Yuelu Academy! [Yuelu Mountain] It's really a mountain! We walked a long uphill slope [Hunan University] Got off and passed by, saw it. So how to take a photo facing the sun? Right! Huohuo teaches you: tell the subject to close their eyes first, then you count 1,2,3, they open their eyes and you press the shutter! Not only will they not squint, but their eyes will be big~~ [Actually] Actually, I don't like taking photos much; I always feel I'm not very photogenic. Serious photos never look as good as candid ones haha
[Forward] Not a bad pose~ [COS] Haha, we both said Xiaobing resembles Chairman Mao about 70%~ Come on, COS~ [Strong light] Still used the 1,2,3 tactic to shoot, otherwise the sun was too dazzling! [Orange Island Head] Now I can only recite one line from the poem~~~~ [Classic] Black Classic stinky tofu is also very tasty~ There's always a long line, just on Huangxing Pedestrian Street [Late night snack] Ate late night snacks at Nanmenkou: flavored shrimp, stinky tofu, iron plate potatoes, dry pot chicken
