Green Fairy Tale at Dawei Mountain, Verdant Everything Awaits You - A Travelogue of the Sea of Clouds at Dawei Mountain
Changsha has been rainy for the past month, but today it finally clears up. Facing such good weather, how can I suppress the restlessness inside and not go out with friends to travel? I had long heard of the fame of Liuyang Dawei Mountain National Forest Park and always wanted to find a chance to go sightseeing. Every time I wanted to go, something came up. This weekend, I finally had the opportunity to go to Dawei Mountain with friends.
Early in the morning, I called my friends and drove to Dawei Mountain Forest Park. Although it was sunny when we left, due to the recent continuous rain, there was still heavy fog at Dawei Mountain scenic area, and the air was humid. Fortunately, I had prepared in advance and wore a thick cotton coat, so I didn't feel very cold.
We entered the scenic area from the South Gate. After entering, we headed straight to Macaque Valley, to the world of little monkeys, closely observing their every move. The cute little monkeys were not at all shy and interacted and played with us very proactively and friendly.
After watching the monkeys, we arrived at Honglian Temple. It is said that Honglian Temple was first built during the reign of Emperor Wu of Liang in the Southern and Northern Dynasties, about 1,600 years ago. Indeed, after experiencing thousands of years of wind and rain, Honglian Temple appears exceptionally magnificent. As we walked inside the Mahavira Hall, the Three Jewels Buddha statues carved from Burmese white jade have broad foreheads and full cheeks, solemn expressions, and a Zen color, containing an introverted and elegant Buddhist culture. The ancient temple is serene, the pagoda is towering, and Honglian Temple exudes the unique solemnity and dignity of Buddhism amidst curling incense and Sanskrit sounds.
After eating near Honglian Temple, we arrived at the Azalea Sea area. The azaleas were just beginning to bloom. Scattered azaleas, under the illumination of clouds, mist, and sunlight, looked particularly striking. Unfortunately, we came a bit too early and did not see stretches of azaleas in full bloom. If the azaleas were all in bloom, it would surely be very beautiful.
'A river of spring water nurtures the three Xiang rivers.' Strolling around the lake, releasing body and mind, stepping on stones deep into the water, tracing the source, seeking the origin of the Liuyang River, observing the pristine water at the source. When coming to Dawei Mountain, how could you miss Daochun Lake? Face east and make a wish. There are steps to praying and making wishes: first, draw a bucket of water from the well, then wash your hands, face east, close your eyes and pray silently, write a red ribbon, then walk around the well three times, and tie it on the well or a tree to complete the wish.
After making wishes, we came to Qixing Peak. Sure enough, Qixing Peak is the highest peak in eastern Hunan. Layers of rain and mist envelop Dawei Mountain, forming a spectacular sea of clouds encircling the mountain, truly a unique wonder of Dawei. Although I didn't see the sea of azaleas at Dawei Mountain, seeing the sea of clouds at Dawei Mountain made the trip worthwhile.
