A 5-Day Trip Wandering Around Changsha~
In July 2021, I finally wrote about my Changsha trip from two years ago. Severe procrastination, it was really not easy~~
Time: July 4-8, 2019. Number of people: 2. Cost: Can't remember, around 3K I think.
Day 1: Shangrao - Changsha
I bought a ticket for train 2369 but saw 2372, momentarily thinking I had boarded the wrong train.
After getting off the high-speed rail, we immediately took the subway to the hotel. After checking in, my friend and I couldn't wait to rush to the snack street, starting our first stop of wandering around.
The first cup had to be Chayan! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
These tangyuan (sweet rice balls) were both boiled and fried. Later, we found even better ones at another place.
Stinky tofu is actually not my thing; I can't eat it.
We saw the noodle shop that Zhang Yixing visited, but if we ate a bowl of noodles there, we wouldn't have room for other food, so we just looked and decided not to eat.
Durian pancakes are also sold near us; they were very average, expensive, and not worth it.
The baked flatbread on the pedestrian street was unexpectedly delicious—thin crust and oily, just how I like it.
After eating and drinking our fill, it was already past 9 PM, so we returned to the hotel and rested early.
Day 2: Orange Isle - Hunan University - Yuelu Academy
We discovered a hidden gem—Nanmenkou! ! ! ! ! ! ! It hides so many delicious things! Siwawa (shredded vegetable rolls) and Roudoufu (meat tofu). We asked for a little spicy, but it still almost blew my head off with spiciness.
The tangyuan here was clearly much better than what we bought on Pozi Street! ! ! ! ! !
Chayan is a must. Two cups a day means double the happiness~~~~~~·
With feet about to give out, we went to try the small wok-fried yellow beef that had made it into the UN. The taste was good, worth the walk and the queue. When I got home, I kept thinking about that beef.
Unfortunately, reservations for the Hunan Provincial Museum were already booked until next Tuesday. There was also a noodle shop called Xueyi Fen that I had always wanted to try. If we got up early, it wasn't open; if we got up late, it had already closed.
Day 3: Changsha - Zhangjiajie
A bowl of rice noodles that wasn't what I expected started our Zhangjiajie journey.
Actually, there are three places to visit in Zhangjiajie: Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, Tianmen Mountain, and Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon. We chose among them, mainly because we didn't want to repeat similar attractions, and finally picked Tianmen Mountain.
Last night, we were worried about rain, but we arrived to find 36°C of scorching sun. The staff suggested we only play half because of limited time, but we ended up walking the entire route somehow. I should offer my little video. A tomboy from Jiangxi really isn't afraid of the glass skywalk hahahahahaha.
Who would have known I survived the whole day on just that morning bowl of noodles!
Day 4: Zhangjiajie - Fenghuang
Fenghuang was a place my friend liked, so off we went. It's been a long time since I saw a red train ticket~
On the train, I kept refreshing for successful ticket supplement info. Waiting for a successful 12306 waiting list notification feels just like waiting for a reply after confessing to a boy you like!
The three essential questions of Fenghuang Ancient Town: "Sister, want braids?" "Sister, want a photo?" "Sister, want to sit at a bar?"
Day 5: Fenghuang Ancient Town - Changsha - Shangrao
It kept drizzling. I saw Shen Congwen's footprints but didn't see Cuicui. I felt the rain would keep falling until the bridge was flooded.
We returned to Changsha at night, starving as usual, and went straight to that same restaurant!
After fighting for tickets all day, we only got hard seats on a midnight train. Hard seats! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah!
Finally, thanks to my social circle and thanks to myself for being a chatterbox—I could flip through my posts and write this travelogue all at once. Changsha is like Chengdu: no matter how many times you visit, you can always wander around endlessly X infinite times!
