Moon Island is an islet standing in the heart of the Xiang River. Originally named Yaobu Islet, it gradually earned the elegant name 'Moon Island' due to its shape—narrow in the south and wide in the north, like a slender crescent moon floating on the Xiang River.

Construction of a resort began, and in 2012 the island was closed for renovation. In October 2019, Moon Island reopened.

Locals often remember Moon Island as a great outdoor spot for fishing, camping, barbecuing, and flying kites. Now, stepping onto this mysterious islet again, everyone is pleasantly surprised.
