After a month of delay, I finally started compiling my travel records from Changsha.

Travel dates: July 19 to July 22

Homestay: We booked a homestay on Airbnb. This was the first time I booked a homestay for travel, and overall the experience was good. Service attitude: four stars, one star deducted because the room was not very large—it felt a bit cramped for three people. However, the projector in the homestay was nice; we relied on it to pass the time during the two rainy days...

Originally, due to the pandemic, I didn't plan to travel this year, but if I didn't use my annual leave by July 29, my vacation days would be canceled. That was really upsetting.

Changsha, as the first stop of this year's travel, had super high expectations because everyone praised it so much. But during these four days, I felt like I was being melted by the heat of Changsha—it was so hot! The perceived temperature soared above 40°C!

On Xiaohongshu, many people say Changsha cuisine is very spicy. I think it's okay. But for those who love spicy food, they would probably like it a lot. The spiciness in Changsha is intense—it hits you all at once.

However, when you come to Changsha, you must try Sexy Tea!

The main reason I chose to come to Changsha was for it.

Although it's always praised and I was afraid it might be overhyped, it's truly delicious. No disappointment, hahaha.

First cup, must order the Youlan Latte, it's really delicious!

The tea has a refreshing taste, the cream is not greasy at all, and paired with nuts, the texture is fantastic! Haha.

Second cup, the Yanhua Yi Leng. I ordered it simply because the name sounded nice, but it was also delicious—just my type. Da Hong Pao tea base, smooth and refreshing, thumbs up.

As for the others, order as you like. Personally, I think the chances of making a bad choice at Sexy Tea are low. During our four days in Changsha, we each had a cup every day.

As for food, we must recommend Mozi BBQ! We went to the branch on Taiping Street. There were so many people! We waited for a full two hours—almost wanted to cry.

But the grilled duck blood was absolutely amazing!

Slices of duck blood with Changsha's spicy seasoning, a bit of cilantro and chopped green onions—the taste was incredible!

Other food was just okay, average, nothing outstanding.

The food we ate was mostly on Taiping Street and Pozi Street. We ate while strolling, and by the time we finished walking, we were full.

Oh, and don't forget to order Changsha's crayfish—a must!

Finally, the attractions.

We came at the end of July, which is not a good travel season. Of the four days, two were rainy.

Xie Zilong Photography Museum & Li Zijian Art Museum:

The two venues are very close, so you can visit them together. We happened to encounter Monday closure, so we didn't go inside, just took photos of the architecture outside. If you have the chance, it's worth a visit.

From the right side of the Xie Zilong Photography Museum entrance, take the stairs down and walk along the lake, and you'll reach the Li Zijian Art Museum.

A must-see! Chairman Mao's statue is a must-visit spot.

Changsha in July is too hot, not suitable for walking from the main gate all the way to Chairman Mao's statue. Taking the little train is a good option—though it's still hot, at least you don't have to walk while sweating profusely.

We went at 3 PM, took the little train to the terminal, walked a bit further, and arrived. Around 5 PM, we walked back along the riverbank; the river breeze was cool.

Super Wenheyou:

Located in Hisense Plaza. The decoration style is very retro. The crayfish tasted okay. If you have to queue for an hour or two, I wouldn't recommend eating there. But you can still go in to take photos.

There were quite a few people that day, so we didn't bother taking photos, just walked around.

Hunan Provincial Museum:

We mainly wanted to see Lady Xin Zhui. Influenced by Third Uncle's 'The Lost Tomb' series, I rushed to see her as soon as I entered the museum. By the way, I didn't take photos there—too scared, hahaha.

Alright, finally finished organizing.

Finally, if you don't like traveling in summer, try to go in autumn or winter.

During these four days in Changsha, I felt like I was walking shoulder to shoulder with the sun every day, admiring the great rivers and mountains of our motherland, just short of raising a glass to toast.
