Spring Cherry Blossom Spot | Yinggeshi Botanical Garden
Spring is here, how could we miss out on outings, picnics, and flower viewing? Looking around Dalian, the best place for flower appreciation is none other than Yinggeshi Botanical Garden.
Yinggeshi Botanical Garden covers over 1,400 mu (about 93 hectares) and boasts 3,021 flower varieties, making it the largest botanical garden in Northeast China. Whether in the budding spring or the breezy autumn, the garden is fragrant and colorful all year round.
You can set up tents and have picnics at Yinggeshi Botanical Garden, and bring your kids and pets. Whether it's a family outing, a romantic date, or a photo session with friends, it's a great place to spend an entire day.
Yinggeshi Botanical Garden is close to Sanhuan Pasture. During the recent May Day holiday, traffic was heavy every day, and parking nearby was difficult. So, I recommend traveling during off-peak hours. For example, I chose to head to Yinggeshi in the afternoon when the crowds were returning, so there was less traffic on the way there and back.
Currently, it's the season for tulips and cherry blossoms to bloom. The most beautiful area in the garden is the Moss Phlox Garden, with vast pink flower seas that are intoxicating, making you feel like you're in a fairy tale.

(1) Children's Playground | Near the north gate, next to the café. If you bring kids, this is a great spot. It has various combination slides, rotating balls, Japanese unpowered trampolines, etc. The trampoline feels amazing to bounce on.
This is the Japanese trampoline in the children's playground. I sneaked a go just before closing when nobody was around—the feel underfoot is fantastic!
(2) Outdoor Wedding | Could there be a more forest-style wedding than one held in the largest botanical garden in Northeast China? Near the central lawn, there is a venue for outdoor weddings. If you like outdoor weddings, consider this place.
(3) Tent Picnic | The central lawn is perfect for setting up tents and picnics. For a family outing, bring a tent, picnic blanket, pets, and scooters for the kids.

Small Tips |
(1) If bringing kids, it's best to bring a stroller. The garden is huge, and kids have limited energy.
(2) There are electric carts in the garden, 20 yuan per person, allowing unlimited rides between stops. If the wait is too long, you can call the service desk, and they will dispatch a cart as soon as possible.
(3) In addition to the 20-yuan electric carts, there are also self-driving electric vehicles for 1, 2, or 3 people, charged by the hour.
