Childhood dreams—how could we forget them as we grow up?

But if I truly make travel my job, does it mean more than just enjoying the beauty of landscapes far and wide? Does it also imply a free-spirited, unrestrained love of freedom, wandering everywhere with no fixed abode?

I have been advised: "A girl should have a stable job."

If I gave up my dream, how many stunning sights along my travels would I miss? Sometimes, travel is about feeling the beauty of nature—lakes, rivers, mountains, lush forests; other times, it's about experiencing the charm of a city—whether it's food streets and roadside stalls, or uniquely distinctive local hotels. This is my first time in Dalian—a spontaneous trip. I look forward to having special memories and experiences here with my boyfriend!

As a Taurus, I have high standards for hotel quality. Since I'm in Dalian, I prefer the seaside. This time I chose to stay at the Hard Rock Hotel Dalian. Hard Rock Hotel is a themed hotel by the sea with strong musical characteristics, the second in mainland China. I had stayed at one in Macau before and was deeply impressed by the hotel's music DNA culture. Here, it's both a hotel and a music collection museum. For music lovers like us, it couldn't be more perfect!

Music DNA Culture

Even before arriving at the entrance, a spectacular 6-meter-tall guitar sculpture comes into view. So iconic! The hotel building, designed by Singapore's DP Architects, is S-shaped, winding gracefully from west to east, giving a soft and elegant feel. Starting from local sentiment, bonded by music, the guitar image has long become the soul of the brand. I couldn't resist taking a few photos at the entrance!

Music varies in different areas of the hotel. The details are truly meticulous! Even if you don't understand music, you'll be infected by the atmosphere here and become part of it! The Hard Rock Hotel Dalian showcases its unique musical theme everywhere—truly captivating!

Upon entering the lobby, the display stand directly opposite features a costume worn by famous Hong Kong artist Sammi Cheng during her "Love Mi" World Tour—a golden dragon head three-dimensional design, gorgeous and grand. On the right side is a costume worn by the Spice Girls; their short skirts look so distinctive! On the left side of the lobby are costumes worn by famous musicians such as Elvis Presley, Rihanna, Justin Timberlake, Beyoncé, and others. These collectibles are perfect for photo ops—all my favorite stars!

There's also a guitar display area in the pre-function hall, featuring guitars played by well-known bands from around the world. Among them is an Aosen guitar from Chinese folk musician Ma Di, which he used during his first national tour.

On the right side of the lobby is the Rock Shop, with many clothing, hats, and other products. The city-specific custom pins are a must-have for hardcore fans worldwide. I heard there's even a Hello Kitty limited edition pin in Japan—I absolutely love it! I hope to visit the store in Japan sometime.

While adults have fun, kids can also have a perfect entertainment experience here. On the first floor, the Hard Rock Roxity Kids Club features four cute rock-and-roll animated IP characters, full of childlike fun! Besides the play area, there are simple musical instruments—piano keyboard, drum set, ukulele, djembe—allowing children to try experiencing the wonder of music.

Hard Rock Sound Experience

We stayed in the Rock Star Suite, essentially the "Presidential Suite." I was stunned upon entering! The overall decor is rock and avant-garde. The living room has a piano and electric guitar, equipped with a full B&O sound system. The piano can connect directly to the TV and speakers, and the room has excellent soundproofing! On the table opposite the bed, there's a vinyl record player with headphones, so we can enjoy without disturbing each other. The small guitar embroidery on the bedding shows attention to detail.

A luxurious bar-style wet bar, a welcome fruit platter and handwritten welcome card from the hotel—very thoughtful. Best of all, the dessert plate is a Crosley vinyl record player—amazing! On the wall opposite the dining table is a metal-style vest worn by Alicia Keys, named the most talented artist of the 21st century.

Standing at the balcony railing, we have a panoramic view of the beautiful beach. From the side terrace, we can see a fairytale-like amusement park. In the evening, we can watch fireworks or enjoy a wonderful dinner with my boyfriend—very delightful!

That evening, we had a Western-style dinner prepared by the chef in our room. The wagyu beef medium-rare was simply divine—delicious even without sauce. The foie gras was tender and of excellent quality, with a great texture. Paired with white wine, it was pure enjoyment.

If you don't choose a suite, regular rooms also have full musical atmosphere decor. There's also the brand's unique "Sound of Your Stay"—a musical experience delivered directly to the room, offering a complimentary all-round music program with three options: Wax, Picks, and Tracks. Vinyl records spin on a Crosley turntable, instantly creating ambiance. Upon check-in, you can rent a guitar and receive a code to listen to classic songs by outstanding musicians or the latest global hits, showcasing a cool musical vibe everywhere.

Relax and Enjoy the Present

We booked a couple's spa experience at the Rock Spa®. From filling in personal information at the entrance to the end of the massage, the therapist's meticulous care made the entire experience comfortable and enjoyable. Unlike other spas, this is the first immersive music therapy. Starting with deep breathing and aromatherapy, listening to carefully selected soothing music, using enhanced vibration, and the masseur's unique finger techniques, we enjoyed a wonderful massage and achieved complete relaxation of body and mind.

In the evening, we must have a drink at GMT +8 Greenwich Lobby Bar. Fancy cocktails and live band performances. I heard the atmosphere manager sometimes also takes the stage—truly multi-talented. The live atmosphere was fantastic; when familiar songs played, we couldn't help singing along. Enjoy the moment, forget work and life troubles, listen to upbeat music, get slightly tipsy, and then go back to rest.

Food First, Burger King

At the all-day dining restaurant SESSIONS, the signature burger set lives up to its name. The bacon is pan-fried until crispy and curly, paired with beef, topped with delicious sauce and thick cheese, accompanied by crunchy pickles and tomatoes, plus french fries—an unforgettable culinary experience. Whether it's the signature beef burger or the trio of mini burgers, both are worth trying!

On the afternoon of check-in, we had afternoon tea in the room. I specially chose mini burgers and savory snacks—a calorie-light afternoon tea is my favorite!

Free Yourself to Find the Coastline Weathered for Hundreds of Millions of Years

The hotel is located on the Golden Coast of Dalian's Jinshitan Tourist Resort. We could take advantage of the low tide in the afternoon to go beachcombing or take a stroll. For those with children, Discoveryland amusement park is within walking distance.

We chose to visit the National Geopark near the hotel, about a 10-minute drive away.

The most famous attraction here is the "Dinosaur Exploring the Sea" landscape. At high tide, you can row a boat under the dinosaur's neck, known as "Dinosaur Exploring the Sea." At low tide, you can walk, known as "Dinosaur Swallowing the Sea"—sounds quite imposing. The sea breeze brushes past, wiping away the light sweat and smoothing the wrinkles in the heart, dispelling any restless or depressed feelings.

The three-day-two-night trip ended. The Hard Rock Hotel Dalian is unforgettable. The performance costumes worn by celebrities and the instruments they used opened our eyes. The ubiquitous music elements make it a unique themed hotel combining enjoyment, leisure, food, and fine wine.

Hard Rock International celebrated its 50th anniversary and announced that Argentine legendary footballer Lionel Messi will become the global brand ambassador for the next five years. They also launched the "Live Greatness" campaign, honoring the past and illuminating the future.

In fact, greatness is not determined by genes, nor is it something precious and unattainable. Greatness is just a word that ordinary people have long attributed to "a few talented individuals." We seem only able to admire or appreciate. But each of us can live in the moment, regain self-confidence. Living in the moment is the first step toward greatness. Choose what you love, bravely pursue your dreams, and you too can live greatness like a superstar!
