Dalian | Seeking the Warmth of the Seaside in September
If it's a northern coastal city, the ideal travel time is actually from May to July. The seaside weather at this time is relatively cool, but not too cold. Visiting Dalian at the end of September is a bit too late. At this time, people in Dalian are basically already wearing long sleeves and long pants.
We rented a Bora and booked it in advance from Xiao Cheng Xu. Because a classmate was a new user, they received a big gift package, with the first day's rent reduced by 100. It was a direct reduction of 100, no strings attached, very satisfactory.
We stayed in a seaside homestay. Hotel prices in Dalian vary. If you want to stay at a seaside hotel, prices are basically over 800, which is unaffordable. The homestay we stayed at was only 200 yuan, and it was less than a 10-minute walk to the sea, very convenient.
In Dalian, we experienced many worthwhile activities.
For transportation experiences, we also went out to sea by boat and fed seagulls on the boat. In addition, we also took a cable car, a tram, and a small train. In short, the transportation experiences were very rich.
We checked in at Xinghai Square, which is the largest square in Asia. At the square, we saw flocks of seagulls. At night, you can also enjoy a spectacular musical fountain.
We checked in at Dalian's highest peak, the Lotus Mountain Observation Deck. This place must be visited because you can see a very beautiful cross-sea bridge.
We went to Venice Water City. Since we can no longer travel abroad, coming to a place like this is also very good.
When we arrived in Dalian, we first checked in at Labor Park. I think the parks in Dalian are built with a lot of culture and art. For example, Labor Park is very delicate, its architectural design is particularly exquisite, and there is even a large amusement park inside.
Many parents bring their children to play here, and some elderly people rest, sing, or play cards here. In short, I feel that Labor Park meets the needs of everyone.
Inside the park, there are slides and cable cars. This was my first time playing on a slide, and I found it very interesting.
The cable car here is really interesting; it's an open-air cable car, which is very enjoyable. Previously, I mostly took glass-enclosed cable cars, which limited the view outside. But this time, I was finally able to enjoy a 360-degree unobstructed view.
Seeing the city of Dalian from above is also very beautiful, with the distant Ferris wheel and stadium in full view.
Playing on the slide was even more fun. When I first got on, I thought it would slide down on its own without me having to do anything. The staff said I had to manually control the lever to adjust the speed. I was a bit scared when I heard that, but when I actually started playing on the slide, I forgot about being scared and just found it thrilling.
Before coming to Dalian, I had already decided that I must go to Xinghai Square. The best thing to do at Xinghai Square is to feed the seagulls. There were children happily feeding the seagulls.
Xinghai Square is a true landmark of Dalian, just like Guangzhou has the Canton Tower.
Look at the seagulls at Xinghai Square, there are so many. From a distance, it's a dense mass, as if the sky is dotted with these seagulls. Many children were feeding the seagulls. The happiness of children is really simple; as long as they see seagulls coming to eat, they become happy.
The amusement park next to Xinghai Square gathered many adults and children, all having a great time. I like this kind of attraction the most; it doesn't focus on a specific age group, but everyone of any age can find their own happiness.
Xinghai Square as a whole is two large ellipses, the largest square in Asia. There is also a wordless book here, which has great historical significance.
The musical fountain at Xinghai Square is super beautiful, unlike any fountain I have ever seen. In addition to laser colored lights, it also incorporates flame effects, so the musical fountain here looks more advanced.
The entire Xinghai Musical Fountain already covers 20,000 square meters, so it is also the largest musical fountain in the entire Northeast region.
After leaving Xinghai Musical Fountain, we drove directly to Zhongshan Square. The lights here are super beautiful, with a building's lights decorating the entire city. Staying in the center of the square for a while, you can feel the vitality of this coastal city, Dalian.
We took many photos at Zhongshan Square. There are also several restaurants nearby, so you can go to any one to eat. The most charming thing about Zhongshan Square is that the buildings here are really diverse, each with its own style.
According to locals, Dalian has many squares, almost all named after places or people.
Before coming to Dalian, I had never heard of the name Bangchuidao Island, but in fact, whether in Dalian or nationwide, Bangchuidao Island is a very important island. Bangchuidao Island was originally a state guesthouse, where some important national leaders would come to escape the summer heat. Later, it became a scenic spot.
In this season, there are also many people visiting Bangchuidao Island. Now, Bangchuidao Island still has traces of its former state guesthouse, with a villa area that looks very upscale.
In addition, many luxury cars were parked at Bangchuidao Island. I wonder where all these people went; maybe they are playing in the villa area.
The scenery at Bangchuidao Island is simply wonderful, with lush green trees and a clear blue sky. The sand here is also clean; it's not very soft sand, but actually small pebbles. Walking barefoot on it feels very comfortable.
Many people came with tents to play, and I really envied them. They really know how to have fun. Some were even having a BBQ here, which was even more interesting.
I have never actually been to Italy, let alone Venice. Coming here, I pretended I was in Venice. The entire water city covers 400,000 square meters, which is already quite large. It is said that the construction of this water city cost 5 billion yuan, which is why the Venice Water City is now so exquisite.
The houses around Venice Water City are privately purchased; some are currently used by the owners, some are rented out. Importantly, the housing prices here are not very expensive; it is said that you can buy one for around 20,000 to 50,000 yuan per square meter? (What courage I have to think this price is not expensive!)
Inside Venice Water City, there are indeed small boats, and you can take a boat tour. In addition, there are some cultural and creative shops nearby. You can buy some souvenirs.
At Donggang Yacht Marina, you can go out to sea by boat. We decisively experienced the feeling of going out to sea. There were not many people on the boat; at most, it seemed to be about 8 people, which was very friendly for someone like me who has social anxiety.
I have to say, the feeling of touring by boat is different from feeding seagulls at Xinghai Square. I strongly recommend everyone to have a sea tour.
