Roaming the World (1557): An Autumn Trip to Jinshitan

On October 8, 2021, the first day after the National Day holiday, I revisited the Dalian Jinshitan National Tourist Resort with my family. Pictured is the landmark stone tablet at the entrance of the Jinshitan National Tourist Resort.

The Jinshitan National Tourist Resort is located in the eastern part of Jinzhou District, Dalian City, 58 kilometers from downtown Dalian, and is directly accessible by tourist express rail. Strictly speaking, as an old Dalian local, I have visited Jinshitan many times and don't need to ask for directions at the self-driving tourist reception center. But even with Baidu Maps, we couldn't find the much-talked-about "Japanese-style street" (recently popular among netizens) in Jinshitan. "Sheng Tang · Little Kyoto" is actually a large real estate development project, and the so-called "Japanese-style street" is just a small commercial street within it. Leaving the outdoor plaza landscape area of "Sheng Tang · Little Kyoto", we drove to the Golden Coast of Jinshitan. The entire Jinshitan area covers 62 square kilometers of land and 58 square kilometers of sea, surrounded by the sea on three sides, with warm winters and cool summers, pleasant climate, and it embodies geological wonders from 300 to 900 million years ago, earning it the reputation of "Divine Power Sculpture Park". The Golden Coast bathing beach is located in the middle of Jinshitan, stretching 4.5 kilometers, with clear blue water and a beach about 150 meters wide. It is the best seawater bathing beach in southern Liaoning and the largest and only natural seawater light bathing beach in northern China.
