Roaming the World (1574): Dalian Tanglihu Park
One day in late April 2022, I went on a road trip with my colleague to Dalian Tanglihu Park. The photo shows the sculpture at the entrance of Tanglihu Park.
Tanglihu Park is one of the main scenic areas of Dalian Western Suburb National Forest Park. Located in the western suburbs of Dalian, under the jurisdiction of Hongqi Street, Ganjingzi District, it covers an area of nearly 70 square kilometers. It is the mountain forest reserve with the best-preserved vegetation and the richest water system in the outskirts of Dalian, and is also a 'lung' and 'natural oxygen bar' of Dalian. Western Suburb National Forest Park is known as the backyard garden of Dalian. The entire scenic area features 'mountains winding with valleys, abundant fruits and beautiful forests, remote paths and long waters, changing seasons.' It is both rich in rustic local charm and full of colorful modern vibes. Here for a spring outing, you can watch forests along streams, listen to birdsong, smell flowers, and appreciate folk customs... The air is filled with fragrance everywhere, making visitors linger and forget to return. The photo shows the landmark of Western Suburb National Forest Park—the large waterwheel.
Tanglihu Park is located in the western part of Dalian. It can be reached from the city center along Hongqi West Road.
Tanglihu Park is also called Tanglihu Wetland Park. It is an urban wetland park integrating ecological protection, natural wildness, leisure sightseeing, and flood control and disaster reduction. The photo shows one of the entrance landmarks of Tanglihu Park.
Tanglihu Park covers an area of 700,000 square meters, with a water area of 200,000 square meters. Within it, there are mountain ecological parks and cross-strait landscaping. The photo shows a panoramic view of Tanglihu Park.

Due to its good vegetation, natural waters, and abundant bird food sources, Western Suburb Forest Park has become a key resting point for migratory birds passing through Dalian. Tanglihu Park has various fitness facilities including a 4-kilometer leisure wooden boardwalk, a 9-kilometer fitness trail, and a 1.5-kilometer circular cycling path.
Tanglihu Park also features a hundred-step staircase, a hundred-meter cultural corridor, and a fishing pond, providing interactive spaces for visitors.

Tanglihu Park has 300,000 square meters of landscaping. It is planted with ginkgo, Mongolian oak, metasequoia, five-lobed maple, and other trees and shrubs, as well as various flowers. In spring, a hundred flowers bloom in a breathtaking sight!

Bus route to Tanglihu Park: Bus 535, or Bus 535 South Chaan to Wangjiatun, get off at Wangjiatun. The photo shows the road sign on Hongqi West Road.
