Dalian's Jinshitan is truly perfect for a vacation! Besides watching the sea and doing nothing, here are some must-visit spots!
A charming trip to Dalian, a romantic journey along the coastal city. Dalian boasts unique natural endowments and rich tourism resources, worth experiencing all year round.
I have seen Dalian in summer and winter before, but in April, Dalian is full of spring, the season when seafood is at its fattest and also the cherry blossom season in Dalian.
During those days, I felt the romantic spring of Dalian, with comfortable temperatures and blooming flowers everywhere.
When talking about traveling to Dalian, Jinshitan is a must-mention. "In the south, there is Sanya Bay in Hainan; in the north, there is Jinshitan in Dalian."
The beauty of Dalian lies in Jinshitan. Some say that visiting Dalian without touring Jinshitan is like "climbing Mount Tai without reaching the summit, or sailing the East China Sea without seeing a sail."
Jinshitan is a National Tourism Resort, a National 5A-level Tourist Attraction, a National Scenic Area, and a National Coastal Geopark.
Besides the joyful seaside for gazing at the sea and zoning out, there are many other places to visit. Here are a few recommendations.
1. Discoveryland Theme Park
Discoveryland Theme Park is the top choice for children to enjoy Jinshitan. It is a paradise for kids and very suitable for family trips. Of course, it is also for those of us who are still young at heart.
Go play like a child and experience the wonderful world of fairy tales!
The temperature this season is very comfortable, and there aren't many tourists, so basically no queuing is needed.
Discoveryland Theme Park has six main themes: Crazy Town, Mysterious Desert, Metal Factory, Magic Forest, Legendary Castle, and Wedding Hall.
There are buildings and leisure areas of different styles, as well as cuisines from various countries.
Medieval European castles, the magic forest of the Amazon basin, and the mysterious desert of Arabia—each themed area is connected by different stories.
That day, the sun was shining brightly, the sky was clear, and the atmosphere was lively.
At the Crazy Theater in Crazy Town, I watched a spectacular performance featuring motocross, drifting, speed, and passion.
Discoveryland Theme Park is quite large; you can spend a whole day here. Come and discover more excitement.

2. EX Future Science and Technology Museum
Arriving at the Jinshitan National Tourism Resort in Dalian, Liaoning, I visited the EX Future Science and Technology Museum and R&D Center at the Jinshi Culture Expo Plaza.
I have to say that technology is developing at an astonishing speed. I could no longer tell whether some were real people or robots—it was so颠覆ive.
At the Jinshi Culture Expo Plaza, there is also a Jinshi Wax Museum, which has fully upgraded traditional wax figures. Based on unique simulation technology, more than 30 wax figures of Lu Xun, Einstein, Jobs, and others are reproduced in the museum in the form of bionic robots.
The figures cover various fields such as history, politics, literature, science, film, and television, providing an opportunity to "meet" historical and cultural celebrities across time and space.
The EX Future Science and Technology Museum is the first bionic humanoid robot venue in China. It integrates high-tech achievements such as bionic humanoid robots, 5G cloud robots, intelligent 3D holograms, and interactive technology products.
It organically blends technology, research, entertainment, and business travel, showcasing the application spaces of artificial intelligence in future life, healthcare, education, and more.
I used to have some doubts about AI and robots, but after personally experiencing the latest technological achievements, I realized I was wrong.
Walking into the Robot Future Science and Technology Museum, I saw many impressive technological developments. Robots could talk and treat illnesses, as if they had stepped out of a sci-fi novel.
This rapid technological progress made me exclaim: The future is already here, and the technological achievements we have will redefine our way of life.
Whether we like it or not, we must face this change. Bionic humans modeled after human prototypes are becoming increasingly realistic.
So much so that while walking in the EX Future Science and Technology Museum, I encountered a few real people in armor and thought they were robots too.
At the R&D center, where the robot development process is open to the public, you can see how these robots are made—full of a sense of technology.
It is said that AI will replace half of human jobs, and soon we won't need teachers, doctors, writers, painters, photographers, etc. Where will humanity go?
The entire venue simulates many application scenarios of AI in future life, foreseeing a future of human-machine symbiosis, constructing an epic immersive experience of the future world.
If you come to the Jinshitan National Tourism Resort in Dalian, be sure to visit this place!

3. Jinshi Wanxiang Commercial Street
"Jinshi views ten thousand lanes, and ten thousand lanes embrace past and present." It gave me a strong sense of time travel—that was my first impression of Jinshi Wanxiang.
This is a large complex integrating tourism, culture, leisure, dining, shopping, and living, with an overall style imitating the Tang Dynasty. Pavilions and towers are everywhere, permeated with the charm of the Tang Dynasty.
As I strolled around, I thought that next time I should wear Hanfu to enhance the experience.
On both sides of the street are characteristic shops of various styles, elegant and unique. There are specialties from Russia, Mongolia, South Korea, Japan, North Korea, and more. Besides tasting Chinese and foreign cuisines, it's also a great place for taking costume photos.
The little bear in the bakery was so cute that I couldn't resist taking a photo with it.
While walking, I also encountered a Tang-style flash mob slowly approaching me, making me forget what day it was.
There are several resort-style hotels here where you can stay and savor the atmosphere slowly. It was the season when flowers bloom in Dalian, and the magnolias at the corner of the house were just right.
In addition to the Discoveryland Theme Park loved by children, the EX Future Science and Technology Museum favored by young people, and Jinshi Wanxiang suitable for Chinese-style photos, Jinshitan National Tourism Resort also has many supporting facilities. You can stay at the Shengtang Lanshan Hot Spring Smart Town and watch the sunrise over the sea right after waking up.
Finally, I end my travel sharing with the most surprising encounter at Jinshitan: a fireworks show. Jinshitan is truly perfect for a vacation. I think I'll take the opportunity to invite some friends or bring my family to stay for two nights.
