A Two-Story-Tall Giant Bear! This Nostalgic Industrial-Style Industrial Park in Dalian, Liaoning Is Worth Visiting

The only regret from my last trip to Dalian was that I stayed too short a time. Next time, I need to find a time to stay in Dalian for a week and explore slowly.

During those few days, I experienced the romantic spring in Dalian and visited many places, including a special smart industrial park—Bingshan Huigu.

Dalian Bingshan Group, formerly the Dalian Refrigeration Machinery Factory established in 1930, has a history of nearly a century. In 2017, taking advantage of the relocation and renovation opportunity, the group transformed the 180,000-square-meter old factory area into the Bingshan Huigu Smart Industrial Park, upgrading "Daleng" into "Bingshan Huigu."

Bingshan Huigu Smart Industrial Park includes the 1930 Bingshan Industrial Culture Exhibition Hall, Bear Cave Street, Artisan Street, Dream Corridor, Maker Workshop, Jiudie Culture, Enjoy Bar, Explore Galaxy Center, Zero Gravity Trampoline, and more. You can spend an entire day here.

Have you ever seen a two-story-tall mechanical bear? This is "Dalian's Joy Street, the Ideal Land for Young People."

The best spot to photograph the mechanical giant bear is on the third floor in the middle, where you can watch it slowly walk towards you.

This two-story-tall giant bear is called "Beibei." It not only roars but also stands up, spouts air, and moves forward, attracting many visitors.

This is the original IP mechanical creation of Bear Cave Street, standing 6 meters tall and weighing 25 tons. Its performance movements are vivid and lifelike. When it slowly approaches you and lets out a huge roar, the sense of shock and immersion is perfect.

Be sure to take a photo with it to realize just how enormous it is!

While strolling on Bear Cave Street, I chose a restaurant called Xiong Jian Jian · Lu Lu Bao for lunch. The restaurant features a black-and-white style, super minimalist, and everything is adorable.

The little bears everywhere are so cute!

This is a chain restaurant with an average cost of around 70 yuan per person. It has franchises in cities like Guangzhou, Huai'an, and Cangzhou. We ordered the recommended Fish Tofu Braised Intestine and Chicken Lu Lu Bao and the Volcano Beef Brisket Lu Lu Bao.

All the tableware is shaped like bears. For two people, choosing a set meal for two is very convenient. The intestines were the least gamey I've ever eaten!

The blue jelly dessert was beautiful, and even the spoon was shaped like a bear.

Xiong Jian Jian · Lu Lu Bao is perfect for girls to check in. Two or three friends can enjoy a light meal there.

The entire Bear Cave Street has three floors, with many restaurants, trendy shops, and amusement areas. It's great for taking photos, family entertainment, and small gatherings with friends.

There are also many signs with "Dalian" on Bear Cave Street, suitable for tourist souvenirs.

2. 1930 Bingshan Industrial Culture Exhibition Hall

The 1930 Bingshan Industrial Culture Exhibition Hall is also located in Bingshan Huigu, not far from Bear Cave Street, within walking distance. You can visit both together.

This is the first theme exhibition hall for industrial refrigeration and heating in China.

This huge building was originally the "Dalian Refrigeration Machinery Factory Foundry Workshop." Using the historic site, it integrates industrial culture display, production process exhibitions, and popular science knowledge exhibitions.

The foundry workshop where the exhibition hall is located was the first process in the production of refrigeration equipment. It has a history of over 60 years and is the oldest building in the factory area.

Now, it uses images, text, and physical objects as the main exhibits, supplemented by audio, light, electricity, and other media to showcase and experience refrigeration and heating technologies.

Visitors can experience industrial culture and touch history and technology in a real, interactive, and intelligent space.

I really liked the cultural and creative display area of the 1930 Bingshan Industrial Culture Exhibition Hall. The various creative products are very innovative.

There are all kinds of creative little bears that I wanted to take home.

There is also a cafe here with a great vibe, hard-edged style, where you can sit for a while. They even sell cakes shaped like icebergs.

"Daleng" was once one of the city landmarks in the hearts of the older generation in Dalian. Now, relying on the cultural background accumulated by Bingshan Group over nearly a century, it has become a place condensed with human feelings and a cultural business card of Dalian.
