Poetic Landscape, Gentle City: 2020 Zhejiang·Wenzhou Tourism (Ningde) Promotion Conference
To comprehensively strengthen regional tourism cooperation between Wenzhou and Ningde, and promote in-depth exchanges between the tourism departments of the two cities, on the afternoon of July 21, the 2020 Zhejiang·Wenzhou Tourism (Ningde) Promotion Conference was grandly held in Ningde. Deputy Director Cui Jing of the Ningde Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, President Lin Jiadian of the Ningde Tourism Association, and other leaders were invited to attend. Representatives of local travel agencies in Ningde were also invited.
At the promotion conference, Deputy Director Hu Qiongzhou of the Wenzhou Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism and Deputy Director Cui Jing of the Ningde Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism delivered speeches respectively, expressing their vision for mutual exchanges and cooperation. At the promotion event, the Wenzhou tourism delegation introduced Wenzhou's rich tourism resources in detail to the guests and held a signing ceremony for strategic cooperation between the two places.
After the promotion conference, a tourism cooperation symposium was organized, chaired by Deputy Director Hu Qiongzhou of the Wenzhou Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism. Heads of the tourism authorities, travel agency associations, and tourism-related enterprises from the two places conducted in-depth discussions on deepening tourism cooperation between the two cities.
Wenzhou is a landscape painting of "unsurpassed beauty in the Southeast." Wenzhou connects rivers and the sea, embraces mountains, and merges land and sea, earning the reputation of "the finest landscapes in Southeast China." It gathers mountains, rivers, seas, lakes, islands, and waterfalls, including Yandang Mountain ("a famous mountain on the sea, an unparalleled scenic spot in the world"), the Nanxi River ("three hundred li of poetic charm"), Baizhangji Waterfall (China's highest single-drop waterfall), Jiangxinyu Island ("the Poetry Island of China, an ancient maritime beacon of the world"), Taishun Covered Bridges ("the most beautiful in the world, with majestic splendor"), Nanji Island ("one of China's ten most beautiful islands, the kingdom of shellfish and algae"), and Dongtou Archipelago ("the Sea Garden"), depicting Wenzhou's beautiful landscape. The area of scenic spots accounts for about one-fourth of the city's total land area. It boasts 1 World Geopark, 2 candidates for World Heritage sites, 3 national scenic areas, 2 national nature reserves, 5 national forest parks, and 93 A-level and above tourist attractions. It is a city suitable for living, working, and traveling, where one can fully enjoy the wonders of mountains, the beauty of waters, and the charm of the sea.
On April 7 this year, the Wenzhou Municipal Finance Bureau and the Wenzhou Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism jointly issued a document to increase reward standards for inbound tourism to Wenzhou. Specifically, for travel agencies that recruit more than 4,000 person-trips of overnight tourists from outside the city (who visit at least one A-level scenic spot), a reward of 20 yuan per person for the excess part (10 yuan higher than in 2019) will be given. For domestic travel agencies (outside the city) that cooperate with Wenzhou local receiving agencies and send more than 2,500 person-trips annually, the top five agencies by annual visitor volume will receive rewards of 200,000, 150,000, 100,000, 50,000, and 20,000 yuan respectively. For organizing a self-driving tour with a single group of 50 or more vehicles from outside the city, the organizer will be rewarded 15,000 yuan, with increments for larger groups, and the cumulative annual reward shall not exceed 100,000 yuan. For recruiting and receiving recuperation and study tour groups from outside the city, with more than 1,500 person-trips and each group staying at hotels or guesthouses in Wenzhou for at least three nights, a reward of 20 yuan per person (an increase of 10 yuan) will be given for the portion within 1,500 person-trips, and 30 yuan per person (an increase of 10 yuan) for the portion exceeding 1,500 person-trips. The number of persons received will be counted in the total number of out-of-city tourists recruited by the travel agency, and the higher reward applies without duplication.
In recent years, the Wenzhou Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government have attached great importance to the development of tourism. To thoroughly implement the spirit of the city's tourism development conference, further build the goal of an international leisure and vacation tourism city, promote the construction of all-encompassing tourism products, and start the beautiful journey of cultural and tourism integration "poetry and the distance," the Wenzhou Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism has focused on areas such as "mountain and water poetry, marine tourism, urban charm, rural leisure, and red tourism," and has successively launched 100 boutique tourism routes, stringing together pearls to outline Wenzhou's magnificent landscapes and brilliant culture, promoting the brand of "Poetic Landscape, Gentle City."
