Like Bali? Yangshuo? Zhongwei? Jiuzhaigou? No, this is the great Wuyi Mountain!

This is a villa cluster hidden in the Wuyi Water Villa area, like a group of homestays gathered together. The vast water villa has very few tourists. 99% of people in Fujian don’t know about this place. Free to shoot — produces great photos in minutes! Want to blow up your social media feed? Check out my post.

Originally I just booked the Drunken Red Robe Villa, but I accidentally discovered a stunning Moroccan-style homestay next to it, an Instagram-worthy design. The key point: free! No ticket required. From some angles, it feels like stumbling into the Wild of Great Joy in the northwest. If it weren’t for the owner of Drunken Red Robe taking me there, I might never have known that Fujian actually has a place similar to the ★ Yellow River Hostel Collection ★:

① There are rooftop handmade mats unique to Ningxia, and you can snap photos at the same style as the Dear Inn (some angles even feel like Bali)

② Each villa has a large garden and unique landscaping. One even has a bamboo forest, like scenes from the movie Green Snake.

③ The backyard is equipped with bamboo rafts, and the green river water accompanied by monkeys' calls seems to recreate the poetic mood: "The monkeys' calls never cease from both banks, while the light boat has already passed ten thousand mountains."

Sit by the river to drink tea, and capture views that look like Yangshuo. The courtyard, floor-to-ceiling windows, bathtubs, tea room, and restaurant — all incredibly beautiful.

(Free photos around the homestay area, can’t fit more pictures! Looking forward to yours!)

About the homestay info:

Homestay: Wuyi Mountain Drunken Red Robe Villa @ Drunken Red Robe Villa Price: 300-500 RMB (per person: 150-250 RMB)

Address: No. 155, Building C15, Area C, Wuyi Water Villa, 668 Jiaoting Street, Wuyi Mountain, Fujian Province

Someone once said: If you miss the Yellow River Hostel Collection, you miss China’s best homestays. Now our great Wuyi Mountain also has a comparable homestay cluster!

I got so many photos this time because I booked the Drunken Red Robe Homestay. It’s a private garden villa hotel that offers tranquility within the bustle, with unobstructed mountain and water views. There’s also a laundry and drying room on the top floor. Besides the high-value rooms, the villa butler provides customized travel planning services for guests and thoughtfully gifts a set of exclusive room amenities. For just over a hundred RMB per person, you can check in to the villa, fish in the yard, enjoy the chess and card room, use the barbecue grill, have a private KTV room, and use the free tea room.

In autumn, Wuyi Mountain’s landscapes seem to have redecorated. Come here to experience clear water and warm sunshine — perfect for travel! This post is recommended for friends traveling here; it’s a very niche travel route. Wishing you all a happy trip!

Below I share Wuyi Mountain travel tips:

Wuyi Mountain is accessible by high-speed rail and flights, with convenient transportation.

Wuyi Mountain Airport to Resort: 10-minute drive, taxi 20-30 RMB

Wuyi Mountain North High-Speed Rail Station to Resort: 30-minute drive, official taxi 60 RMB (shady taxi 20-30 RMB — try at your own risk)

Nanping Station to Resort: 30-minute drive, official taxi 100 RMB (shady taxi 30-50 RMB — try at your own risk)

Resort to Scenic Area: 5 to 20 minutes total. Taxi about 15 RMB.

Taxis in Wuyi Mountain have no base fare; you usually negotiate the price before getting in. So remember: don’t get in without settling the price.

Friendly reminder: Never believe a taxi driver who says they can take you for 10 RMB — that price wouldn’t even cover the gas.
