Xiapu Food Trip, Another Day of Eating~~
This time I went to Xiapu and stayed at a friend's homestay. The landlady went to the market early in the morning to buy some local specialty seafood, so we could have fresh and delicious seafood for lunch!
The first thing we bought locally was Wangchao, priced at about 10 yuan each, and they were very lively.
The second thing was to make a mixed fish dish: wild Sandao fish, fresh meat pomfret, flounder, and Tongpen fish, braised together in soy sauce – it tasted great.
The third thing was Foshou. We bought two kinds, one large and one small. The small ones cost about 45 yuan, and the large ones about 120 yuan. Foshou's meat is mainly inside the body, so the large ones are much more expensive than the small ones.
Besides Foshou, we also bought a local barnacle called "Jitou". Locals often use it to make oyster omelette – no need to shell, just wash and fry directly, and spit out the shells when eating.
The fifth delicacy was local Hualuo (flower conch). Xiapu's local Hualuo is very different from the Hainan flower conch we usually eat; this kind has no sand and doesn't need to be kept in water.
The sixth dish were mantis shrimp as big as a palm, each full of roe – so satisfying!!
Finally, a wave of food temptation to share – let's eat!!
