Joy in a Small Fishing Village
The first dinner hosted by the B&B owner was excellent; the owner is a very skilled cook, reportedly trained in England, and everyone really enjoyed it. The dinner was pre-ordered because fresh ingredients needed to be prepared, so everything was very fresh. The accommodation was also quite nice, with neatly arranged facilities. Shoes had to be left outside the room, and there was a shoe cabinet—probably because bringing sand back from the beach might dirty the room. I think the owner was quite thoughtful about that.
We hired a car for our trips. The driver was nice and helped us plan the route, since the actual itinerary might change for various reasons along the way, and he offered plenty of suggestions. Of course, when we communicated with the owner online initially, he also provided us with a travel plan, which felt very thorough overall.
We ate plenty of seafood. You can head to Taikang Road Food Street, take a CITYWALK around the area after dinner, and look for the Nine Great Halls (Jiudaguan)—it's very lively at night.
Our itinerary was mainly on the second and third days. We visited Dongbi, Yangjiaxi, Xiawei Island, Danwan, Haiwei, Huazhu, Gaoluo Beach, Dajin Beach, and also went out to sea. Due to time constraints, we didn't go to the Shishuang Islands because a day trip to the islands wouldn't allow us to return the same day.
