Departing from Shanghai on June 16, 2024, after a 9.5-hour flight, arrived in Helsinki, the capital of Finland, at 14:00 local time, beginning a 15-day Nordic journey.

Helsinki, the capital and largest port city of Finland, is a city where classical architecture and modern design blend seamlessly.

Sibelius Park was created by the citizens of Helsinki in memory of Finland's most famous musician, Sibelius, featuring a park and a monument.

The park has a lake, flowers, and trees, making it a great place for citizens to relax.

Temppeliaukio Church (Rock Church) is a modern Christian church carved out of solid rock. From the outside, it looks like a flying saucer parked in a large rock; the only sign of its identity as a church is the small copper cross above the entrance.

The interior walls are the natural rock surface without any decoration, and the ceiling walls are built from crushed rock, giving the church a primitive feel that brings a sense of returning to nature. Water seeps from rock crevices and flows along the rock walls into underground drains, enhancing the church's acoustics.

Helsinki Cathedral (White Church) is one of the most famous buildings in Helsinki, located on Senate Square. It is predominantly white with a pale green dome, featuring exquisite structure and remarkable grandeur, considered a gem of Finnish architectural art. To its left is the University of Helsinki, and to its right is the Government Palace.

The image below is a series of photos of Senate Square.

Helsinki is dotted with lakes throughout its streets and alleys. Under the blue sky and sea, the scenery is incredibly beautiful!

Market Square was a quick stop, mainly to see the double-headed eagle statue on the square. It is related to the Tsar, but I didn't catch the specific explanation, WWW~

Standing on the platform, one can overlook the entire city of Helsinki.

Across the street is the library.

Tomorrow, I will take a ferry to Tallinn, Estonia.
