A Hotel That Deserves a Review: Guangzhou Nansha Fenghuang Lake Mulianzhuang Hotel
A Hotel That Deserves a Review: Mulianzhuang Hotel
I really have to share my thoughts—I'd feel awkward not giving it a full 5-star rating! I've stayed at many hotels for business and travel, and while some were decent, few made me want to write a review. But this hotel absolutely deserves a 5-star rating, and I have to write something. I stayed at the Guangzhou Nansha Fenghuang Lake Mulianzhuang Hotel for five days, and those five days left a deep and wonderful impression on my post-2020 pandemic business trips. The location is excellent—very close to the Nansha District Government (just one street behind), and about 900 meters in a straight line from Jiaomen Metro Station. Several times I walked to the metro to go to the project site, taking just 10 minutes on foot. Very convenient. Most convenient of all, the hotel is right above the Youfang Shopping Park and Wanda Plaza (a bit farther, about 1,500 meters away), making dining, leisure, and shopping extremely easy. The best part is Fenghuang Lake next to the hotel. Taking a stroll by the lake in the evening is especially pleasant, and a full lap is about 1,500 meters. Several office buildings in the Nansha CBD are within a 3-kilometer radius of the hotel. It's also very convenient to get to Toyota Motor City—about a 15-minute taxi ride.
Upon entering the hotel, the first floor has a small lobby with two high-end elevators that appear to be Mitsubishi—very spacious. The main lobby is on the fourth floor, combined with the lobby bar. The entire hotel feels exceptionally clean, and the epidemic prevention measures are very thorough. There are epidemic awareness posters (likely required by the government). At the entrance on the first floor, a smiling staff member greets you and asks to check your temperature, instantly making you feel welcomed and safe. There is also hand sanitizer, hotel disinfectant wipes, and complimentary masks available. When checking in, the smiling staff again asks for a temperature check, requires a health code, and asks you to fill in your 14-day travel history. The epidemic prevention work feels very rigorous, giving a strong sense of security. The front desk staff member, SUSAN, has a particularly lovely smile with two dimples—very endearing. The hotel's fragrance is excellent, with a subtle scent of forest after rain—I was captivated the moment I entered.
The guest room is neither too large nor too small, about 35 square meters, but it has a big round table—extremely convenient for placing a laptop for work, playing cards with colleagues, or having a small drink. Very practical and suitable.
The bed and mattress, along with the bed linens, are the most comfortable—soft and cozy, making me feel completely at home. I slept naturally until I woke up every day. Since it was a business trip and I needed to work in the room, I relied on the internet and also watched movies in my spare time. The internet was super fast, and I later learned it was a dedicated line. Another highlight is the shower—hot water comes instantly. As soon as you turn on the tap, hot water is waiting, unlike other hotels where you have to wait a minute. The water pressure is perfect—not too strong, not too weak, with a gentle force—very comfortable on the skin. I also want to thank the housekeeping supervisor, Manager Lei. Knowing that I was staying long and liked to brew tea, she specially gave me several large bottles of Nongfu Spring water for making tea.
The hotel restaurant is also on the fourth floor. Except for the first day, when I went to the restaurant the next morning, the waitress already knew my surname—a small surprise. The breakfast selection is very rich, with both Chinese and Western options. I particularly enjoyed the local Nansha lettuce, roasted sweet potatoes, and Guilin rice noodles, so much so that I had a bowl of noodles every day. Later, the restaurant learned that I liked small bananas (Xiaomi jiao) and specially prepared them. They also replaced the fruit in my room. The hotel's attentive service really impressed me. Thumbs up!
As for parking, the hotel has a dedicated parking area on the second basement level with plenty of spaces. However, the parking spots on the ground floor at the entrance are too few, so I often had to park underground. The exit is a bit narrow—drive carefully. The main thing is that parking is free. Once I forgot to get a parking ticket, and the young lady at the toll charged me 30 yuan. But staying at the hotel entitles you to free parking—you can get a complimentary ticket at the front desk. The front desk girl SUSAN, upon hearing that I had been charged for parking, gave me three tickets (enough for three nights) with a laugh. I later learned that hotel guests get free parking with a ticket, but outside vehicles must pay. Speaking of the parking spots at the entrance, I should mention the pond outside the hotel entrance. In the evening, the fountain and lights interplay beautifully, creating a very artistic and pleasant atmosphere. The hotel design is very creative and novel—light luxury and classy. The WeChat service from the team also left a deep impression on me. I never expected Nansha to have such a wonderful hotel! The Guangzhou Nansha Fenghuang Lake Mulianzhuang Hotel is, in my opinion, the best hotel in Nansha, and even rare in the Guangzhou area. Next time I come to Guangzhou, I will definitely stay here again—it feels like coming home!
