How to board? What transportation options are available?
The boarding point for Star Cruises is at Nansha Port in Guangzhou, with multiple free shuttle buses from Guangzhou and Shenzhen to the Nansha Port boarding point, making transportation very convenient. Free shuttle buses are available from Guangzhou Baiyun Airport, Guangzhou South Railway Station (high-speed rail station), Dashatou Pier, Nansha Passenger Terminal, Nansha Bus Station, Jinshazhou Metro Station, Shenzhen Airport, and downtown Shenzhen, all directly to the Star Cruises boarding point at Nansha Port. You can choose a location that is convenient for you.
A Culinary Feast on the SuperStar Virgo
Although it is a long sea voyage, passengers' demand for delicious food remains strong. Unexpectedly, the cruise ship offers not only Chinese cuisine but also various dishes from other countries, whetting everyone's appetite. If you can eat, you can have three, four, five, or even six meals a day without any problem. Besides the restaurants serving regular 'three meals,' the ship also has many bars, cafes, and tea houses. Additionally, some restaurants offer morning tea, afternoon tea, and late-night snacks. There are also welcome receptions and banquets, and occasionally BBQs on the deck, where you can enjoy performances, sea breezes, grilled food, and ice-cold beer... So, if you care about your figure, you should look more and eat less when faced with the diverse cuisines on board!
The SuperStar Virgo has many restaurants, from large ones that can accommodate hundreds of people to small tea houses scattered on the decks. There is exquisite Japanese cuisine and spicy Indian curry. Even in the buffet restaurant, the dishes change daily and every meal. During my three-day, two-night voyage, every meal on board was a new experience.
Yunding Palace is the largest free indoor restaurant on the ship, located at the rear of Deck 6. It consists of a Western dining area near the windows and a Chinese dining area enclosed by railings. Tall floor-to-ceiling windows and a grand piano in the center create a romantic atmosphere.
The Mediterranean Buffet on Deck 12 aft is another free restaurant, divided into left and right sections with completely symmetrical buffet offerings. The restaurant serves six meal periods daily from 6:00 AM to 12:30 AM: breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner, and late-night snacks, with about half an hour to an hour break between each period. There is a wide variety of buffet dishes, and they are continuously replenished until the last minute before closing.
In addition to these two free restaurants, there are several à la carte restaurants on board (red room cards can be used with their built-in credit, while blue room cards require settling the bill with a credit card or cash upon disembarkation).
The Taj Restaurant on Deck 8 serves Indian cuisine daily. Of course, the main component of Indian food is curry. The buffet here offers up to seven or eight different types of curry, and it is hard to distinguish the differences just by the names of the dishes.
