"Dream Cruises" World Dream: A Mouthwatering Culinary Journey!
As a highly acclaimed cruise brand in Asia, the flagship fleet of Dream Cruises' World Dream will bring you an extraordinary new vacation experience, indulging in comfortable and enjoyable sea life, presenting a splendid entertainment feast, and taking you to enjoy delightful onshore destinations. A wonderful holiday of endless joy, facing the vast ocean, arises spontaneously.
With over twenty years of in-depth experience in the Asian market and global expertise in luxury cruise operations, Genting Hong Kong has created its new brand, Dream Cruises. As the first Asian homegrown luxury cruise brand, Dream Cruises is tailored specifically for the high-end cruise market in China and Asia.
Victoria Peak in Hong Kong, with towering skyscrapers
On November 30, I was very fortunate to be invited by "Baidu Jiahao" to participate in the experience activity of the latest Asian luxury cruise, Dream Cruises' World Dream, under the theme "Dream Cruises High-Speed Rail with 'Cruise': World Dream Cruise Travel V Plan, a three-day-two-night experience.
Departing from Guangzhou by high-speed rail, it takes only 47 minutes to reach Hong Kong and directly board the cruise. For Guangzhou, this is the best choice for a family weekend getaway.
In this article, I would like to briefly introduce the cuisine on the cruise, as I had two profound tasting experiences and want to share my thoughts with everyone.
A perfect sea journey must not lack the company of delicious food!
Dream Cruises' World Dream features over 35 dining concepts, covering both Chinese and Asian local delicacies as well as international cuisines—everything you need!
Traditional Chinese, luxurious Western, exquisite Japanese, plus hot pot, dim sum, seafood platters—whatever you crave, Dream Cruises' World Dream can satisfy you! Dream Cruises can fulfill everyone's desire to eat and drink. If you have a big appetite and a sufficiently large stomach, eating five meals a day is possible to meet your needs!
Due to time constraints, I only got to taste the cuisine from a few of the restaurants. It was impossible to sample all the food on the entire cruise, but these few restaurants already represent the dining standard of Dream Cruises!
Zouk Beach Club: Various desserts to sweeten the heart (Deck 17, aft)
The Western pastries offered mainly include small desserts, cakes, fruit-flavored cream pastries, puff pastries, shortcrust pastries, and choux. Due to the high fat and protein content, they are sweet but not greasy, and beautifully presented. These desserts particularly attracted me, and I took many photos of them. If you board the cruise, don't forget to taste these sweet treats!
Dance (Deck 6, bow): Buffet dinner, enjoy a feast of delicious food
At the Silk Road Dance restaurant, full of nostalgic charm, enjoy an audio-visual feast—savor food while swaying to the music...
The welcome dinner arranged here was very special, accompanied by soft and graceful music. Everyone drank, tasted food, and chatted, making for a very pleasant evening.
The new seafood restaurant "Hai Zhen Fang"
It brings the freshest seafood from the destinations to the table, presenting a tempting ocean feast for guests!
It is said that the seafood here is exceptionally fresh. If you love the taste of seafood, don't miss the seafood feast at this restaurant!
Seahorse Japanese Restaurant Teppanyaki: A great enjoyment for the senses of hearing, sight, and taste!
Japanese teppanyaki is the highest form of dining in Japanese cuisine. It differs from Chinese barbecue and Korean barbecue; eating Japanese teppanyaki is a symbol of wealth and status. Teppanyaki involves grilling ingredients directly on a hot iron plate. These ingredients are not marinated beforehand but are quickly cooked on the high-heat iron plate to retain their natural nutrition and flavor. Since the ingredients are not pre-marinated, the requirements for raw materials are quite high, such as sirloin beef, fillet beef, beef ribs, silver cod, scallops, foie gras, and so on.
On Dream Cruises' World Dream, at Seahorse Japanese Restaurant, I truly experienced the essence of Japanese teppanyaki.
Japanese teppanyaki emphasizes the original flavor of the ingredients, usually using only butter, pepper, and a small amount of soy sauce for cooking. However, the teppanyaki chef adds multiple seasonings such as fresh juice, soy sauce, seafood soy sauce, and brandy to the teppanyaki ingredients, enriching the flavors.
This chef, even while cooking, is full of drama—singing, swaying, and putting on a constant performance. Everyone also kept tapping their bowls and chopsticks to the rhythm. The experience of tasting such delicious food was truly exhilarating!
I especially loved the beef made by the chef—so smooth and tender, it melted in my mouth!
I watched the chef do it: beef, as the soul of teppanyaki, made its entrance. After heating the iron plate and wiping it with oil, the beef ribs were placed on it and quickly cooked. The thinly sliced beef ribs had a good balance of fat and lean, perfectly complemented by teriyaki sauce. The beef ribs for this dish are taken from the sixth rib of the cow, making the meat very tender. When eating, you just need to find the trick—turn it around, and all the meat and tendons go into your mouth. With bones and tendons, it's rich and delicious, juicy and chewy.
Blue Lagoon Food Court: A taste of home
This Southeast Asian restaurant offers fast-food-style service. You can watch the chef's skills on the spot and taste authentic Southeast Asian dishes along with matching beverages and desserts.
Who would have thought that the cruise also has a taste of home? These Chinese-style dim sum come from the Blue Lagoon Food (Deck 7) Chinese restaurant. The food here truly has a home-cooked feel. I basically went to this restaurant for breakfast every morning. It's delicious and very affordable—you can get full for less than one hundred RMB per person.
The Lido Buffet on Deck 16, located on the waterslide deck floor, offers a variety of Chinese and Western options. You can try authentic dishes from Asia and around the world while enjoying the beautiful view!
In addition, there are Palm Court, Genting Club, Open-air Bar, Crystal Life Healthy Bar, Outdoor Hot Pot, Seahorse Japanese Restaurant, Italian Handmade Ice Cream, Zun Di, Penfolds Wine Cellar, Champagne Bar, Miss Cocktail Lounge, Blue Lagoon Food, Red Lion Lounge, Silk Road Dance, 360 Bar, Lobby Cafe, and more—everything you can imagine!
With so many dining choices on Dream Cruises, tourists of all ages can find something to suit their tastes!
The enchanting blue sea and sky, the attentive service, the serene and elegant environment, and the visually appealing food—how can one not be tempted?
Come and experience the "World Dream" on your taste buds!
