Hong Kong, Long Time No See
Due to the pandemic, I haven't visited Hong Kong for nearly four years. I renewed my Exit-Entry Permit for Travel to and from Hong Kong and Macau and set off!
From Shenzhen, you can take the high-speed train directly to Hong Kong. I rushed to Futian High-Speed Rail Station at 7 a.m., and it only took 15 minutes to reach Hong Kong West Kowloon. Both China Customs and Hong Kong Customs clearance are completed at Hong Kong West Kowloon. There were very few people in the morning, so I didn't have to queue; just swiped my card and passed through. Right outside customs is Austin MTR Station, from where you can take the subway to your destination!
Since I live in Shenzhen and got a one-year multiple-entry endorsement, I chose to go for a day on the weekend. If you get a two-entry-per-year endorsement, you might consider staying overnight in Hong Kong, but it's a bit expensive. For sightseeing, the Central Ferris Wheel, Victoria Peak, and a night cruise on Victoria Harbour are all good choices. For shopping, Harbour City has everything but is a bit pricey; BONJOUR is also a good option. For common medicines, Watsons and Mannings are the best choices! My route this time was to first go to Central Pier, then stroll through the streets and alleys of Central, go shopping in the mall during the hottest part of the afternoon, and take the Peak Tram to the top of Victoria Peak near evening.
Standing by the pier, blowing the sea breeze and basking in the sunlight, it felt as if I had merged into the sea;
Strolling through Central, measuring the long and narrow alleys, lifting my eyes to capture the depth of time frozen in an instant;
At the top of Victoria Peak, looking up at the vast sky with sparse clouds, and looking down to scoop up the烟火人间 (the vibrant life of the mortal world).
