Hong Kong Citywalk Route: This One Article Is All You Need
Take the Island Line, get off at Kennedy Town MTR station Exit C, walk about 5 minutes from the station to see the sea and the Kennedy Town New Promenade sign. Stroll along the seaside, taking photos as you go – every shot is photogenic. The blue sky and white clouds are so healing! I came in the morning this time due to a tight schedule, but if time permits, I recommend coming at dusk when the sunset is most beautiful – the setting sun is absolutely stunning.
From Kennedy Town, take the MTR one stop to HKU station to visit the internationally renowned University of Hong Kong, a comprehensive, international, public research university in Hong Kong, known as the "Ivy League of Asia." The campus has several historic buildings, the oldest being the Main Building, supported by granite colonnades and topped with a tower and four turrets, showcasing typical Western architectural style. It is a favorite spot for HKU students to take graduation photos. Also, Loke Yew Hall was the filming location for the theater scene in the movie Lust, Caution.
From HKU, take the MTR six stops to Causeway Bay station. Hysan Place is located in the most bustling Causeway Bay shopping district, with its B1 level directly connected to Causeway Bay MTR Exit F2. It is always crowded. The basement level 2 houses Jasons· Food & Living (under the Dairy Farm Group), Causeway Bay’s first premium supermarket combining gourmet food with stylish taste, with fresh ingredients air-shipped to Hong Kong. Additionally, many trendy brands and skincare labels have opened here, including Bobbi Brown, Dior, Clinique, Guerlain, Lancôme, and more. In this prime, high-rent commercial area, the mall features a sky garden on floors 4 to 7, and a food court and restaurants on floors 11 to 14, providing an excellent shopping environment. In the second half of 2023, SOGO Department Store launched its Gratitude Festival, running from October 27 to November 26 for one month.
At Mong Kok MTR Exit B1, you'll find Dai Hing Restaurant Tail Steak. The interior has a retro feel with checkered tablecloths; though the lighting is dim, the space is relatively spacious. In Hong Kong, besides street food and dim sum, many tourists and locals choose to eat steak. This restaurant offers reasonably priced steak, with pork chop and beef steak sizzling platters. The set meal includes a bowl of rich borscht and a dinner roll, and you can choose between garlic sauce or black pepper sauce for the steak. Though the choices are limited, the flavor is great.
After lunch, we walked 5 minutes to G/F of MOKO on Prince Edward Road West to buy souvenirs at Hong Kong Wong Yue. Wong Yue stores are everywhere in Hong Kong. Besides their famous molten lava mooncakes, their pastries are also excellent! I love their palmiers series and crispy sticks series. Upon entering, the Wong Yue Hong Kong Story series catches the eye – with vibrant dopamine colors and hand-drawn iconic Hong Kong buildings, it's really exquisite. This series includes their best-selling original palmier and Earl Grey palmier, as well as my favorite crispy sticks. The gift box of crispy sticks includes two flavors: almond and hazelnut. They have a light nutty and hazelnut paste aroma, with distinct pieces of almond and hazelnut crunch.
