At the media sharing session for the 'Hong Kong Palace Museum,' it was revealed that the museum has specially selected 8 sets of precious artifacts related to the Year of the Dragon from the Palace Museum, including ceramics, paintings, calligraphy, and imperial seals.

'Lung Dim Sum' on Haiphong Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, is a traditional nostalgic dim sum shop with reasonable prices and a wide variety. The 'One Basket Full Satisfaction' is ordered at almost every table, offering six types of dim sum in one basket. The bamboo shoot and shrimp har gow features fresh, bouncy shrimp with crunchy bamboo shoots for a satisfying texture. The salted egg yolk and cuttlefish siu mai is an innovative dim sum—sweet and savory, a great taste!
'Kau Kee Beef Brisket' is a place even Eason Chan queues for. The environment is modest, but the flavor is reminiscent of childhood. The soul of Cantonese beef brisket noodles is tender, flavorful beef brisket paired with egg noodle—springy and chewy! Pair it with a Hong Kong-style lemon tea for the perfect noodle shop combo.
Hong Kong local brand 'Hong Kong Royal Yue' has outdone itself this year! From the festive, glittering New Year gift boxes to the very timely Dragon Year gift boxes! Their palmiers, egg rolls, and cookies are delicious enough, but even the boxes are stunning! The Dragon Year gift box is not only perfect for giving to relatives during New Year but also makes a great Hong Kong souvenir for friends. Some designated New Year gift boxes also include a lucky couplet blind box, full of meaning and surprise!
For snacks, besides DONKI DONKI, I also recommend '759 Store.' With a membership card, you get a 23% discount, which is a steal! Top 1: Black Gold Beef and Salted Egg Yolk Chips—salted egg yolk flavored chips that were amazing on first try! Top 2: Hokkaido Cheese Balls—strong cheese flavor, a must for cheese lovers! Top 3: Various chocolate brands on sale, including Meiji, Lindt, and Kinder—go for it!
In Yuen Long, there is a traditional Chinese candy specialty store—'Kee O Peanut Candy,' which has been open for 20 years. For Lunar New Year, besides festive pastries, candy is essential. This old shop is packed every day before New Year, with people of all ages coming to buy peanut candies. They are handmade with a low-sugar recipe, and the black sesame peanut candy and oil horns are highly recommended!
During a previous city walk in Hong Kong, I saw 'Wong Wing Kee Fruit Shop' and bought some preserved plums—sweet and sour—and craved them after returning home. This time, I came specifically to buy New Year goods, so of course I wouldn't miss it! Besides preserved plums, I also bought preserved ginger in lemon juice and dried ginger. Who doesn't love 'mouth-watering' snacks?
