Western USA Trip ③ Las Vegas

Western USA Trip ③ Las Vegas

Joining a cheap group tour, many sightseeing activities require extra fees.

For example, the Las Vegas city tour: the hotel is 37 km from the city center,

transportation is inconvenient, and the key issue is limited time.

We checked into the hotel at nearly 5 PM, and the next day we headed to the next attraction.

For convenience and to give the local guide some face, I paid $80 to join the night tour.

Left the hotel at 5 PM, it was still light, snapped some photos along the way.

After dinner, it got dark, followed the local guide to selectively view sights.

My original plan was to walk from south to north during the day to see all the iconic landmarks, but I had to give that up.

First went to Bellagio.

The ceiling was truly studded with flowers, colorful.

Another ceiling, a huge flower.

This is the legendary indoor glass flower house.

It housed many animal figures: tigers, elephants, foxes... and many people, hard to take photos without people.

The local guide knew the show times at each attraction.

This is the musical fountain in front of Bellagio, around 7 PM.

With the Paris Las Vegas Hotel as backdrop, took several shots, this one is the best.

Nearby Planet Hollywood Hotel.

The miniature Venice cityscape outside the Venetian Hotel:

Bridge of Sighs and St. Mark's Square bell tower.

The local guide thought this hotel was the same as the one in Macau, everyone had been there, so we changed to Caesars Palace.

Therefore, we didn't go inside that hotel.

Next target: go to The Mirage Hotel to watch the volcano eruption show outside.

While waiting, took some street shots.

It's said to be a half-hour cycle performance.

More and more audience waiting, the good viewing spots were crowded with people from all countries.

It started! Can't directly post video, only photos.

Artificial mountain turned into volcano, violently erupting, lava pouring, cool water instantly spreading into a scorching sea of fire.

Then calm returned. People lingered, then gradually left.

Walked to the meeting point, taking photos along the way.

The other side of prosperity: quiet and few people.

Caesars Palace, located in the heart of the Las Vegas Strip, is the first resort hotel with a local famous theme in Las Vegas,

built in 1966, at the intersection of Flamingo Road and Las Vegas Boulevard.

This is the facade of Caesars Palace, imitating the Roman Colosseum.

When I got off the bus, I thought: it really looks like a crime scene.

Sure enough, later the local guide said his fellow townsman was shot dead by a drug addict nearby!

Thanks to an American woman who bravely chased the perpetrator and called the police, leading to arrest and case closure.

Entering through a small side door into a resplendent corridor, felt like two different worlds inside and out.

The rotunda of Caesars Palace is a miniature of ancient Rome, with a performance at 9 PM.

The main passage leading to the Forum Shops,

the storefronts and public areas are designed to imitate ancient Roman streets,

the ceiling displays the "beautiful morning and evening changes that can only be seen in the Mediterranean."

These bust statues are actually the backs of chairs, street chairs for visitors to rest.

The place is really big, took a quick look around, then returned to the rotunda to gather and wait for the performance.

The show plot roughly involves a power struggle between a king and a prince.

The performers stood on lifting platforms, appearing in turns, with fireworks, quite lively.

Last stop: the pedestrian street in Old Las Vegas,

deafening sound, bizarre sky canopy,

zipliners whizzing by, eye-catching costumes...

I liked the energetic street dance the most,

it made the audience dance involuntarily, the scene was very lively.

Reluctantly returned to the hotel, the first floor lobby was a gaming area,

some people said they wanted to gamble a little, not sure if they did.

I had already scouted while waiting to check in in the afternoon,

the luxury car exhibition here is much more interesting than that kind of amusement.

A good-value hotel, the accommodations were quite nice.

No breakfast provided, the local guide ordered Chinese takeout,

and we paid tips ourselves to the delivery person.
