Americas Edition Brand Flagship - Miami Edition, Mini Version of Sanya Edition
On the last weekend of April, I rushed to Miami. Originally, round-trip tickets were less than $80, but due to procrastination, I kept delaying buying tickets, and by the time of departure, it became $200. However, I had locked in the hotel early, so I decided to just go for it anyway. The trendy hotels in Miami are 1 Hotel and Edition. With similar minimalist design styles, they are popular among everyone, but Edition seems to have a slightly better reputation. Although Edition is not the most expensive hotel in Miami, it is one of the most favored by Chinese people. Strangely enough, I expected to see many Asian guests in the hotel, but apart from the first night when there was a wedding for a group of Chinese people, I didn't see any Asian guests afterwards—very odd. It seems the hotel has events almost every day, and then all kinds of beautifully dressed ladies show up, which is very pleasing to the eye. Overall, I think it’s like a super mini version of the Sanya Edition. The room style and decoration are similar, but smaller, and without a bathtub. There are very few ocean-view rooms—only one wall offers a direct sea view, and I estimate there are no more than five rooms per floor with that view. The entire hotel has only 11 floors. The public areas are small—I think they might be less than one-tenth the size of the Sanya Edition's public areas. The lobby is also small—well, the lobby is probably about the size of the bamboo forest area at the Sanya Edition. Very small, but... to put it nicely, it exudes a sense of refinement, haha. To be honest, it's quite good to encounter such a hotel in the US. The service is good; the front desk staff are very helpful. However, when it comes to room upgrades and late checkout, they are really stingy. Initially, they told me it would be standard checkout time, and I had to plead for quite a while just to get an extra half hour, so checkout was at 11:30 AM. Anyway, I won't complain further. For the first two nights, I stayed at W Miami and The Ritz-Carlton respectively, and now I kind of regret not staying all three nights at Edition. There was no need to switch hotels; I was originally worried about getting bored.
II. In Room | In Room
Refined All-Season hotel style... It opened nearly ten years ago, and I think the maintenance is quite good. I really liked the pool—the lighting colors at night were also great. The gym was nice too. The service staff seemed to be all Mexicans, and sometimes their English was not very understandable.
