As New York's absolute landmark, the Empire State Building teamed up with the top representative of superheroes—Superman—in an unbeatable partnership. In the classic 1980 Superman film, Superman, though longing to be an ordinary human, was forced to restore his powers in a battle with the villain and accidentally knocked over the spire of the Empire State Building. At that critical moment, driven by his love for humanity, he successfully restored the spire and resolved to continue being a flying 'little reporter' for the safety of Earth.
As a perennial backdrop in films, the Empire State Building is no less legendary than the protagonist Superman. Completed in 1931 in just 410 days, it features a 360° open-air observation deck and nine art galleries, truly embodying the pinnacle of New York's prosperity and cultural heritage. Even today, having not visited the Empire State Building is like never having been to New York. Though no longer the city's highest point, it will forever remain the building New Yorkers are most proud of.
