Single-log bridges, suspension bridges, rope bridges, arch bridges—every bridge has a practical purpose: they can cross rivers and connect peaks. China is the homeland of bridges, known as the 'Kingdom of Bridges' since ancient times, with development in the Sui dynasty and prosperity in the Song dynasty. Around the world, there are iconic bridge structures that are must-visit spots for travelers. This Little Travel City will take you to discover the most worth-visiting bridges around the world. Come and collect them!

01 Tower Bridge, UK

In the late 19th century, the commercial district of East London developed rapidly, and the growth of cross-Thames traffic far exceeded the capacity of existing bridges, making the construction of a new bridge urgent. Completed in 1894, it has two towers built of granite and steel on each bank, divided into two levels. The upper level supports the towers on both sides, while the lower deck allows pedestrians to cross and vehicles to pass. The bridge itself can be raised to allow ships to pass. Tower Bridge became a landmark on the Thames upon its completion and holds a high position in the history of world bridges. Spider-Man, 007, and Harry Potter have all filmed here.

Tower Bridge has three places worth visiting. The first is the exhibition hall inside the north tower, which tells the story of London's Tower Bridge from its initial design to completion. The grand Victorian-style stairs inside the tower freeze time in 19th-century London.

The second part is the most popular glass walkway of Tower Bridge, passing through the exhibition hall. Standing 42 meters above the Thames, you look through the glass floor at the pedestrians and vehicles on the bridge and the boats on the river. If you're lucky, you can also see the bridge folding below.

The third part is the engine room located on the south side of Tower Bridge, where you can see well-preserved engines and various mechanical equipment, and learn the story of how Tower Bridge operates.

02 Brooklyn Bridge, United States

Brooklyn Bridge and DUMBO Walking Tour

Fans of the American TV show 2 Broke Girls will definitely be impressed by the following shot, because it appears at the beginning of every episode. Besides 2 Broke Girls, Desperate Housewives, the movie The Dark Knight Rises, and Once Upon a Time in America have also filmed here.

The round trip between Brooklyn and Manhattan, whether by car or subway, cannot avoid the Brooklyn Bridge. Built in 1883, it is one of the oldest cable-stayed bridges in the United States. The Brooklyn Bridge is not only a tourist attraction but also an indispensable part of life for native New Yorkers.

Walking on the bridge is another experience: sea breeze, Manhattan skyline, overlooking ships, and night views.

A non-stop crossing of the Brooklyn Bridge takes about 30-40 minutes.

03 Pont Neuf, France

Next to the Île de la Cité, where Notre-Dame Cathedral is located, there is the oldest bridge in Paris. It was the first bridge built after Henry IV moved the capital back to Paris and inaugurated the Bourbon dynasty, over 400 years ago. Interestingly, this old bridge, built in the early 17th century, has a capricious name: 'New Bridge'. At that time, there was a saying: If Paris were a world, the Pont Neuf would be the capital of that world.

Arriving at the Pont Neuf, you also come to the Latin Quarter, known as the essence of the Left Bank. Here you often encounter artists with guitars or accordions. There are also many famous 'old bookstalls along the Seine' nearby, which are not to be missed whether for strolling, book hunting, or buying vintage posters.

Taking a boat tour allows you to enjoy the scenery of the Pont Neuf up close on the Seine. At the point where the Pont Neuf crosses the Île de la Cité, there are three equestrian statues of Henry IV. Jacques de Molay, the Grand Master of the Knights Templar, was burned at the stake here in 1314, which also gives the Pont Neuf a tragic note.

04 Sentosa Sky Bridge, Singapore

AJ Hackett Sentosa Giant Swing

The Sentosa Giant Swing is hailed as Singapore's most exciting attraction. Visitors can enjoy the magnificent beaches and coastline of Sentosa Island from a height of 40 meters above the ground. There is an air giant swing that can accommodate two to three people. The seat rises to a height of 40 meters, then the swing descends fully at a speed of 120 km/h, providing a thrilling screaming experience!

There is also a sky bridge connecting two 47-meter-high towers. The corridor offers visitors a wide view, and in the ultra-high-level corridor, you can feel like walking in the clouds.

Use a bridge to connect two places, use a Go Travel City Pass to connect the world.
