American Museum of Natural History
Everything in the world fascinates children. How big were dinosaurs? How did humans evolve? What creatures once lived on Earth? All these answers can be found in this museum.
As one of the largest natural history museums in the world, the American Museum of Natural History in Manhattan consists of 28 interconnected buildings, housing 45 permanent exhibition halls, a planetarium, and a library, with millions of precious artifacts in its collection.
From a 94-foot blue whale and a Tyrannosaurus rex skeleton to various animal specimens, fossils, and anthropological artifacts, the whole family can explore exciting science, nature, and history exhibitions, enriching their knowledge and understanding of the Earth’s past and vastness.

Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum
Located on the Hudson River, the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum focuses on historical, scientific, and military exhibitions. It has long been a beloved cultural and educational institution in New York, offering unique experiences through authentic ships, aircraft, interactive exhibits, and historical artifacts.
The aircraft carrier USS Intrepid was launched in 1943 and served in World War II, surviving five kamikaze attacks and one torpedo strike. On its flight deck are more than 20 restored real aircraft; the Space Shuttle Pavilion displays original artifacts, photos, audio, and video materials across 17 exhibition areas; and in the Exploreum, an interactive hall themed around water, aviation, and marine life, children can even climb into a real Bell 47 helicopter, pilot an interactive submarine, and operate a space shuttle.
Adjacent to the museum is the USS Growler, a missile submarine launched in 1989 and the only American diesel-powered submarine open to the public.

Staten Island Children’s Museum
A museum designed especially for children is definitely worth a visit for a family trip! Located on Staten Island at the southernmost tip of New York, this museum is the only indoor-outdoor interactive museum in the city. It features exhibitions on insects, the ocean, and world knowledge, as well as children’s workshops with activities and performances. Kids can also use real, safe construction tools to build and decorate houses, sparking their design potential.
