A Cultural Trip Must-Visit: MoMA PS1 Contemporary Art Center
Art lovers must have heard of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA). As one of New York's landmarks, it houses some of the world's most outstanding works of art. The New York Pass today takes you to a site related to this globally renowned art museum: its branch in Long Island City—MoMA PS1 Contemporary Art Center.
Founded in 1971, PS1 is one of the oldest and largest non-profit contemporary art institutions in the United States, attracting around 200,000 visitors each year. It actively promotes emerging artists, new genres, and bold new works by established artists, making it one of the most concentrated hubs for contemporary art.
As an exhibition space, PS1 does not have a permanent collection; its exhibits come from continuously evolving works by emerging artists.
A series of long-term installations dating back to the 1970s are highlights of PS1, located in specific spots within the venue and viewable year-round.
In addition to constantly updated art exhibitions, PS1 also organizes many exciting performances and events each year, creating a vibrant museum experience.
