The launch of Edge New York City Sky Deck's social media accounts will allow millions of Chinese tourists to explore one of New York City's most iconic attractions from a fresh perspective on social media platforms.
Located on the west side of Manhattan, New York, USA, Edge New York City Sky Deck stands approximately 335 meters high, offering visitors breathtaking 360-degree panoramic views of the New York City skyline, allowing them to feel as if they are above the clouds while taking in the bustling cityscape. Whether sipping champagne while standing on the sky deck, leaning against the angled glass walls to look down at the city, stepping onto the transparent glass floor, or strolling along the sky staircase from the 100th to the 101st floor, visitors can fully immerse themselves in the endless charm of New York City.
In 2021, Edge New York City Sky Deck launched a brand new outdoor climbing experience: City Climb, the world's highest open-air building climb. According to forecasts from the National Travel and Tourism Office (NTTO) of the United States, Chinese tourism to the U.S. is expected to grow significantly in 2024 and is projected to return to pre-pandemic levels by 2026. Looking back at historical data, according to NYC Tourism data, in 2019, New York City welcomed over 1.1 million Chinese tourists, making China the second-largest source of international tourists for New York City at that time.
Edge New York City Sky Deck, designed by William Pedersen and Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates (KPF), is located on the 100th floor of 30 Hudson Yards. This observation deck redefines the New York City skyline. A marvel of modern engineering and structural design, it weighs approximately 347 tons and is composed of 15 sections, each weighing between about 15.88 tons and 45.366 tons, bolted together and secured to the east and south sides of the building. The approximately 700 square meters of outdoor observation area is made up of 79 panels, each weighing 544 kilograms, manufactured in Germany and installed by Italian workers.
