Heyuan Wanlv Lake Trip
It is a settlement of the Hakka people,
it is the earliest place where the Hakka lived,
it is a true 'ancient Hakka city,'
it is one of the important origins of Hakka culture,
and also one of the important birthplaces of Lingnan culture.
This trip had the fortune to visit here,
allowing us to taste authentic Hakka cuisine
and admire the antique Hakka town.
The first stop of this journey was the Wanlv Lake Scenic Area, known as one of 'the three wonders on the desert belt' of the Tropic of Cancer on Earth.
Wanlv Lake is a national 4A-level tourist area,
renowned as China's natural oxygen bar and China's good water.
It was already 1:00 PM when we arrived at the scenic area,
so we headed straight to the pre-booked hotel,
'Dongyuan Wanlv Hakka Inn'.
The hotel is located inside the parking lot of Wanlv Lake Scenic Area, nestled against the mountains and by the water, with beautiful scenery.
Wanlv Hakka Inn integrates Hakka homestays, organic restaurants, conference training, tourism reception, fruit and vegetable planting, and research education; its featured attractions include a mountain spring swimming pool, a sunny lawn, wooden cottages at dusk, hanging lanterns, a time-space corridor, a Hakka library, a Zen tea exhibition hall, an organic restaurant, an organic vegetable garden, and more.
There is a large lawn right at the hotel entrance, suitable for camping.
After nightfall, we set up a tent, with a gentle breeze and a full moon, beer, barbecue, and crawfish,
along with the band invited by the hotel—it was truly delightful.
Around 11 o'clock, worried about disturbing other guests' rest, we packed up and returned to our room.
The room we booked was a one-bedroom, one-living-room suite, and its name was quite poetic: 'Time Calm, Carefree One-Bedroom Suite'.
The room style was rustic, simple and unadorned.
The next day, the kids splashed in the hotel's swimming pool, while we strolled and relaxed by the side.
Then we visited the hotel's organic vegetable garden, where various fruits and vegetables were grown.
We could truly enjoy the pastoral scenery.
Travel time is always tight, after all, the beauty along the way is endless.
With the help of the staff, we checked out smoothly and then prepared to head to our next destination.
