A Perfect Weekend Getaway for the Whole Family: Chunmuyuan Town in Heyuan!
🚗 It takes just over two hours to drive from Panyu, Guangzhou.
✨ The town is huge and has all kinds of facilities. There's a large lawn in the center, surrounded by many coffee shops. During the day there are magic shows, and at night there's a bonfire party. Around the lawn, there are hot springs, a Dragon Bone Park suitable for kids, and you can go kayaking or take a boat ride on the lake. You won't be bored all day! Here are the details:
✅ Accommodation: We stayed at the Blue Grape duplex apartment, which accommodates 6 adults and 3 kids. Our whole family stayed together, and there was a small living room where we gathered to chat—super cozy. I'll let you in on a secret: I got proposed to in that living room ❤️. Oh, and for those driving electric cars, there are quite a few charging stations here. It might be busy during peak season, but I managed to snag a spot for slow charging—went to charge before bed, and it was full by morning.
✅ Green Apple Lawn: There's a magic show around 3 PM. Kids can't bear to leave! Adults can grab coffee nearby and sit on the grass like camping. If it's too hot, you can just go inside and enjoy the air conditioning.
✅ Dragon Bone Park: A paradise for kids! There's a huge trampoline that even adults want to try. It looks like a geometric structure from afar, and you can climb inside and crawl around. There's also a water play area where kids will definitely get soaked if they want to have fun. Remember to bring a change of clothes!
✅ Palm Tree Hot Spring: I thought there might only be a few pools, but there are actually quite a few, plus a large swimming pool. I swam a few leisurely laps and felt very satisfied! Soaking in the hot spring at night, you can see the bonfire party and fireworks on the opposite shore—super romantic!
🌞 Day 2 Itinerary: Breakfast was good quality with many options. You can have authentic Heyuan rice noodles. After breakfast, we took a lake cruise: for a relaxed family outing, choose the 10-minute boat ride; for more challenge, pick the duck boat; and young people must try kayaking—though it's not suitable for very young kids. Later, we played simulated golf—air-conditioned, with a short lesson, and we had fun for another hour! Awesome!
✨ The restaurants in the town are all well-reviewed. Since we went to Wanlu Lake, we ate out. The whole weekend was very relaxing, with plenty to do. Both adults and kids were satisfied! Starting in April, the Cherry Tomato Carnival begins, with various events until August. I heard there will be a new water park in June—highly recommended!
