This Art Town! In Heyuan, Guangdong

“The shimmering water is fine under sunny skies, the misty mountains are wondrous in the rain”—this is the sensory experience of us, Muses, after spending a weekend in the 3,800-mu aesthetics town “Chun Mu Yuan.” Stepping into Chun Mu Yuan Town, we realize it truly lives up to its name as “a spiritual bay for the individual.” Here, “the individual” can be me, you, or them, and the relationships are not limited to “solo travel,” “honeymoon getaway,” “family gathering,” “team building,” “elderly leisure,” and so on.

❶ [Architectural Features]

- “Eternal Youth”—a giant green apple installation, the work of renowned architect Tadao Ando, located on the large lawn in front of the [Life Experience Hall]. The lawn area can host weddings, team-building events, exhibitions, parties, cultural activities, etc.

- The Poetry Chapel (under construction) is Tadao Ando’s first chapel in China after 40 years, following his classic trilogy of “Wind, Water, Light.” It will bring an unprecedented artistic building to the Greater Bay Area.

- Dragon Bone Paradise: a children’s playground designed by Zhang Tang Landscape. The installation is inspired by the idea of “playing inside a dinosaur skeleton,” using pixelated interlocking volumes to create a partially buried “dragon bone fossil” shape, forming a fun space with multiple play experiences.

There are abundant activity options: “kayaking, golf, sightseeing boats, jumping clouds, ball pools, palm hot springs, infinity pools, Mu Theater, beach volleyball, table ice hockey, tennis and billiards, fishing platforms, chess and card rooms, KTV,” etc., meeting all entertainment needs for both adults and children.

We, the Muses, booked a Loft suite at [Blue Grape Hotel], with three bedrooms and one living room accommodating “six adults and three children.” Whether for family trips or couple getaways, the space is more than sufficient. Booking the Blue Grape Hotel also includes a buffet breakfast at the “Garden Restaurant,” as well as the “Dragon Bone Paradise ticket + Palm Hot Springs” experience.

Every year, Chun Mu Yuan Town hosts at least 1,000+ cultural experience activities, including art activities such as “DIY resin pendants, digital painting, frisbee graffiti, aromatherapy plaster, pottery making, children’s clay, glass painting,” and more.

From this April to August, the “Cherry Tomato Carnival” will be held every Saturday, featuring various cultural activities like “Tomato Market, concerts, magic shows, accordion flower boat parade,” etc. Additionally, the much-anticipated “Water Park” (under construction) will open to the public in June.

Chun Mu Yuan Art Town, surrounded by green mountain valleys, offers a scene of beauty at every step, with poetry everywhere. It is an ideal destination to find your true self.
