When Chrysanthemum Meets Hydrangea
On November 19, 2010, I visited the Blue Mountains in the rain.
After descending the mountain, the tour guide Xiao Gao, using the time saved from the Blue Mountains tour, first took us to visit the Sydney Olympic Park, and then we came to the Art Gallery of New South Wales located in the city center [Art Gallery originally means 'art gallery', I translate it as 'art museum', and New South Wales is the state, so the full name is 'Art Museum of New South Wales'].
A loss may turn out to be a gain. — Encountering rain in the Blue Mountains turned out to be a bargain!
This art museum is really worth seeing. What's more delightful is that I gained a bit more understanding of the tranquil environment of downtown Sydney!
By the way, if you want to see mountain scenery in Australia, you will surely be disappointed. I told my travel buddies that even Zhejiang Pan'an's Shuixiakong and Shibawo are ten times more spectacular than the mountain scenery there.
However, my travel companion Mr. Zhang and I only stayed in the museum for 10 minutes to take some photos before walking out! Why? The following photos will tell you: we were attracted by the large lawn and giant trees outside the door.
A brief introduction to New South Wales is as follows:
On April 29, 1770, British explorer Captain Cook landed near Sydney and declared the area a British colony.
On January 26, 1788, the first British convicts and settlers arrived in Sydney. On February 7, 1788, Captain Phillip announced the establishment of the colonial government of New South Wales and became its first governor.
On January 1, 1901, New South Wales together with five other colonies formed the Commonwealth of Australia.
