As a relatively famous industrial city, Liuzhou has a highly developed industry, but did you know that such an industrial city ranks second in Guangxi for A-level scenic spots? There are many fun attractions in Liuzhou, and it’s no exaggeration to call it a tourist city. Today, let’s take a closer look at which attractions in Liuzhou are the most enjoyable.

“A thousand mountains stand around the wilderness, one river embraces the city in its flow.” This phrase was originally used to describe Guilin’s Two Rivers and Four Lakes, but it equally applies to the Hundred-Li Liujiang River. Along the Hundred-Li Liujiang, there are many scenic spots, very beautiful, including natural scenery and cultural attractions such as the music fountain, artificial waterfall, Confucian temple, and more. Taking a night cruise is the best choice, lasting about an hour. This is a must-visit spot for anyone vacationing in Liuzhou; otherwise, it’s like you haven’t been there.

After the cruise, you can go ashore to drink beer, have some barbecue, enjoy local food, and then return to a hotel along the river. From the hotel, you can see the night view of the Liujiang River—an excellent experience. So when choosing a hotel, it’s best to pick one by the river. I recommend the Liuzhou Baiyue Garden Hotel. This hotel is garden-style, very quiet, with a great environment and not expensive. The rooms offer an unbeatable river view, very relaxing.

Cheng Yang Ba Zhai consists of eight natural villages, surrounded by green mountains and clear waters. Each village has its own scenery, somewhat like a paradise, making you feel far from the hustle and bustle and close to nature. Strolling through them, you can not only see different folk customs but also let your mind find a peaceful corner, forgetting the distractions of big cities. It takes about three hours to visit.

In my opinion, Liuzhou’s Longtan Park is the most fun park, no exception. It integrates karst landforms, ethnic cultural customs, and subtropical karst plant landscapes. Lush trees, many peculiarly shaped small peaks, and a combination of cultural and natural attractions—every corner makes you linger and forget to leave, completely overturning my stereotypes about parks.

The Sanjiang Drum Tower is a landmark attraction in Liuzhou. Its shape is unique, like a pagoda, and it is the symbol and soul of Dong ethnic villages. It is also the world’s first drum tower. Climbing to the observation deck, you can take in a panoramic view of Sanjiang. At night when the lights come on, the Sanjiang Drum Tower looks magnificent and imposing.

If you want to understand a city, the local museum is undoubtedly the best tool. As a city with relatively developed industry, the Liuzhou Industrial Museum integrates historical industrial displays, industrial heritage protection, scientific knowledge普及, and tourism leisure. It has become the first comprehensive industrial museum in Guangxi and even the whole country. Its industrial value and tourism significance cannot be underestimated.
