King of Curves Self-Drive Trip: The Hidden Scenery of Longjiang Village in Luzhai, Liuzhou
I am someone who loves mountain driving. For self-drive trips, I often choose those hidden spots with mountain roads and scenery, places where you can find those little-known beautiful views!
So the question is: when mountain driving, there are bound to be some curves. A capable car for cornering becomes especially important. I've long heard from car-savvy friends that the Mazda Atenza has unique cornering advantages. So before buying this car, I decided to rent one and give it a try!
To find a mountain driving trip that could truly satisfy me, I researched a lot, asked many friends, and finally settled on this trip's destination—Longjiang Village, Luzhai County, Liuzhou City, Guangxi.
This is a village hidden among the towering mountains, connected by various winding roads. The moment we arrived, there was a sense of sudden clarity: the scene of crisscrossing paths and the sounds of chickens and dogs!
The sudden outbreak of the epidemic this year has been very confusing for me, a travel enthusiast. I've already mentally divided my home into micro scenic spots and toured them countless times. Fortunately, the domestic epidemic situation is under control, and with this opportunity, I could go out and stretch my legs.
This trip to Longjiang Village fulfilled my long-cherished dream of being the king of curves on mountain roads. The route I'm unlocking this time is different from before. Due to its unique natural scenery and geographical location, Longjiang Village stands out among mountain scenery cultures. Driving the Mazda Atenza, known as the "King of Curves," all the bends were navigated smoothly.
It's said that the Mazda Atenza is very suitable as the first car for young people. As a B-segment car, its handling and driving comfort are really quite good. As an old driver with 7 years of experience, I've already been sold. My next car, I'm seriously considering the Atenza.
The car's exterior is dynamic and energetic, with nothing to fault. Especially the lines of the front and side, full of sportiness.
The interior seating and storage space are very generous. The driver's seat has memory function, and the rear seats are also equipped with heating. In addition, the ADD heads-up display provides intuitive driving data, greatly enhancing driving safety.
After driving for 2 hours, we finally arrived at Longjiang Village. The village name sounds ordinary, but to find it, you need to trek over mountains and cross countless winding roads—a real-life version of the "18 Bends of Mountain Road."
For an average car, this twisty route might make you tense and consume a lot of energy. But when driving the Atenza, I felt more at ease. The comfortable driving experience allowed me not to think about hurrying, but to stop and go, then set off again.
Playing a soft piece of music, the BOSE surround sound enveloped me inside the car, seeming to cut off the chaotic real life, allowing us to fully enjoy the mountain road scenery of this distant village!
The charming natural environment makes you feel: a small retreat in the wild, returning to gardens and fields; living in the village, primitive and simple. Longjiang Village is just such a charming place—with mountains, water, and life—a true "hidden paradise"!
Distant places all have a temptation for us—whether tempted by beauty or by legends. Even if the distant scenery is not as good as expected, we don't care, because that's a charming mistake. Obviously, driving to Longjiang Village is not a mistake but a perfect and correct trip!
Sometimes travel is a small dilemma: whether to go or not. Sometimes, I think about staying home or just joining a tour group, but I still feel something is missing, though I can't exactly say what. Self-drive travel gives me the best anticipation and experience of travel because its freedom and mobility are unmatched by any other travel method.
This trip had complex roads and many curves. Luckily, I chose the Atenza. In a self-drive group, I heard fellow drivers say: people who drive the Atenza are those who love curves and yearn for freedom. I think their feelings are probably similar to mine.
The acclaimed handling performance is precisely the charm of the Atenza: abundant power, sharp steering, and a precise man-machine integrated driving experience, like an old friend who understands my intentions.
The mountain roads were dangerous. My friend wanted to take out the drone from the trunk for aerial photography, but it was hard to park on the mountain road, so we kept driving. After driving on the mountain road for a while, I found a small unmanned bridge and parked the car. While I was admiring the car's appearance, my friend had already flown the drone high up, taking in the mountain scenery from above.
"Come on, you drive, and I'll film you with the drone from above." My friend's drone piloting skills are also veteran-level! The Soul Red color shuttled through the green mountain bamboo groves—how could the word "beautiful" do it justice?
As the saying goes, "Going up the mountain is easy, going down is hard." The descent had many curves with high difficulty. Fortunately, the Atenza's GVC acceleration vector control system helped us achieve excellent cornering grip, giving us great stability while turning.
A particularly interesting thing about this trip: we misjudged the distance to our destination, so on the way back, we ran low on fuel and almost broke down. Luckily, even with the low fuel warning, the car still managed to reach a village. We asked various people and finally managed to "borrow" some fuel—exciting!
Black technology like GVC Plus is really worth repeated praise, allowing me to shuttle through dense curves steadily and stylishly.
As we drove, we savored the journey. The most beautiful scenery is always on the road, and also at the moment of arrival. Next time, let's hit the road together again!
From Longjiang Village back to Liuzhou city, it took over 4 hours of driving, and I was a bit tired. I found a hotel to get a good night's sleep.
Following my usual habit, I booked a hotel under the Dossy Group again. This time I stayed at Yicheng Hotel (Liuzhou Music Fountain Yintai City). The hotel's river-view room captured the night scenery of the Liujiang River, sweeping away the fatigue of the journey.
The hotels under the Dossy Group, by absorbing the essence of Eastern culture and philosophy, continuously cultivate a distinctive Eastern style and temperament. Among them, the "Cheng" series brands, represented by Yicheng Hotel, are the mainstream brand series that interpret and promote Eastern culture, perfectly blending the Eastern core with Western form. Yicheng Hotel (Liuzhou Music Fountain Yintai City) has this very temperament.
Whether it's the hardware and materials of architectural design, the selection of furniture and soft furnishings, the supporting services of dining and tea ceremony, or the supply of aromatherapy bathing amenities, Eastern aesthetics permeate every detail.
During breakfast, watching the scenery outside the window made my appetite even better. I hoped these little moments would pass as slowly as possible—even if wasted, they felt meaningful!
I didn't miss a single moment of the beauty and romance of day and night. Staying at Yicheng Hotel (Liuzhou Music Fountain Yintai City) felt like I owned the entire Liuzhou—I felt very rich, haha!
This self-drive trip had many surprises. Whether it was the enchanting scenery of Longjiang Village, the unique handling experience of the Atenza, or the perfect time at Yicheng Hotel (Liuzhou Music Fountain Yintai City), all added more flavor to my life—perfect!
