Another new tourist destination, beautiful as poetry and painting, all in Rongshui Mengwu Miao Village

On November 3, the '2020 Beautiful China Tour · Focusing on Liuzhou's Big Health Industry and Tourism Equipment Manufacturing Development' field trip and promotion activity officially set off in Liuzhou. This event is the 99th field trip activity of 'Beautiful China Tour', jointly organized by China Tourism News and Liuzhou Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism. Following this activity of China Tourism News, we came to Rongshui County in Liuzhou.

In Rongshui County, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, there is a Shuanglonggou Primitive Forest Tourism Resort, also known as 'Shuanglonggou', where the beautiful Mengwu Miao Village is located. I inexplicably like the Miao people, like their exquisite costumes, and like their singing and dancing and pure simplicity.

When you step into Mengwu Miao Village, you will be intoxicated by the beautiful scenery, infected by the sounds of lusheng and the fun bamboo pole dance, and then quickly blend in! To show the hospitality and enthusiasm of the Miao people, they line up on both sides inside the village gate to welcome visitors, with the sound of lusheng echoing through the village.

The lusheng has a history of more than 1,000 years. In Miao areas, the lusheng is a widely spread traditional reed pipe instrument and a symbol of Miao culture. The 'Miao Lusheng Making Techniques' were included in the first batch of the National Intangible Cultural Heritage Representative List in 2006. It is said that in the love life of Miao young men and women, the lusheng is an important 'medium'. Strictly selected white bamboo, purple bamboo, and bitter bamboo are used as the material for the bamboo pipes of the lusheng.

Miao people and the lusheng are inseparable like companions; every household cannot do without it. Wherever there are Miao people, there will be lusheng, no matter where. In Miao ethnic cultural life, lusheng and dance are a very important part. Therefore, in the eyes of the Miao people, the lusheng is not just a simple ethnic musical instrument. In the hearts of the Miao people, the lusheng is particularly sacred.

Miao girls are not only good at singing and dancing but also skilled at playing the lusheng. Speaking of the Miao people, the first thing that comes to mind is Miao girls wearing brightly colored beautiful costumes and exquisite silver ornaments. In Mengwu Miao Village, there is a group of happy Miao girls who wear their ethnic costumes every day, welcoming tourists from all directions in the village. They regard tourists as the most distinguished guests from afar.

Currently, Mengwu Miao Village offers a series of tourism projects, including Miao family pig-killing feast, Miao pastoral farming (micro-farmland), drum tower antiphonal singing, lusheng stepping hall, fish stirring, horse fighting, cockfighting, and bird fighting.

Different from other villages, Mengwu Miao Village is a poverty alleviation project and an experience park of Miao culture. Some of the staff and performers in the village are mostly beneficiaries of the poverty alleviation project. A beautiful Miao girl told me that her home is more than two hours' drive from Mengwu Miao Village. She lives with her parents, grandparents, and their life was very poor. Their house was demolished, and the government moved the building materials from the demolished house to the Miao village and rebuilt the house, making them feel it was the same home. The difference is that life has been getting better since moving. She works and performs here every day, earning an income, which has changed her family's life. The whole family is very happy! She smiled sweetly, and I could deeply feel her full sense of happiness.

In Mengwu Miao Village, there is a fun place to take photos, and the pictures look like they have great skills. When you come, you must experience it yourself to see how your skills are and what kind of photos you can take.

There are more than a dozen homestays in the Miao village, and many shops. Currently, they operate ethnic specialty dining, homestays, cultural and creative products, lusheng making demonstrations, fire pit cultural experiences, special tourist souvenirs, etc., all with unique characteristics. Under the night sky, Mengwu Miao Village is dreamlike and illusory. The lights are dim, brilliantly jumping like fire, igniting the night, letting us wander in Mengwu Miao Village. Looking at the village's lights, sparkling and flowing, the flickering lights are like a phoenix crown and robe, making people so enchanted.

The night scene of the Miao village is magnificent. Every nightfall, the village turns into an ocean of lights and a world of light. In early winter, there is some temperature difference between day and night in Rongshui Miao Village, with nights being slightly cooler than days. However, such a lively Miao village night makes one not feel the chill. Several beautiful Miao girls danced happily on a stage built on the water. In front, there is a网红 suspension bridge above the water. I dare not challenge it this season; in summer, I would definitely go to the suspension bridge to test my balance.

After renovation, these old houses of poor households serve both as living spaces and performance venues. The Miao compatriots retain their nostalgia, and their lives have become happier.

Mengwu Miao Village has become an ocean of joy. Miao girls dance their ethnic dances, attracting countless tourists to stop and watch. The whole village is boiling, and everyone enthusiastically joins the Miao girls in the bamboo pole dance. I have always liked the bamboo pole dance, and this time I danced to my heart's content!

Mengwu Miao Village is a national AAAA scenic spot, 3 kilometers from the county town. The entire village focuses on the Miao ethnic experience. The Rongshui County Party Committee and County People's Government attach great importance to leveraging the resource advantages here. In recent years, they have combined the tourism industry with relocation for poverty alleviation, poverty alleviation industries, and targeted assistance, guiding the masses to participate in the management and operation of the scenic spot.

The large-scale live-action drama 'Miao Charm' starts on time at 8 p.m. every Friday and Saturday. The performance venue uses Miao stilted houses that were entirely relocated from Miao villages in poor mountainous areas. The actors participating in the performance include not only scenic spot staff but also poor mountainous area Miao compatriots who moved with the houses, totaling 150 people, including 14 relocated households (53 people) from poverty alleviation relocation. The Miao village ethnic style street buildings were moved intact from poor mountain villages, preserving the original architectural features of the Miao people to the greatest extent. This new model will make the Miao village better and better.

The ancient land creates unparalleled beauty. These beautiful and charming natural sceneries are like an intoxicating ink painting. It was a worthwhile trip. The beautiful Mengwu Miao Village has left a deep and wonderful impression, with distant blessings for this place.
