Practical Tips for Strolling in Liuzhou (TIPS)
I spent three days writing 'Addictive Snail Noodles: Wandering in Liuzhou'. Thank you all for your comments and encouragement. To show my appreciation for your support, I've compiled answers to common questions below for your reference.
1: When is the best time to visit?
As long as it's not a public holiday or weekend, there are relatively few tourists. Any season is fine, but June to September can be hotter. However, compared to our Nanjing, it's nothing much.
2: Long-distance transportation:
You can check flights online. In the off-season, I suggest flying (super cheap); in peak season, I recommend the high-speed train. I suggest traveling in the off-season – it's more economical, and you'll have a better experience.
I recommend staying at 'City Express Zhonghuan Mansion Hotel', located near Wuxing Commercial Street, about 100 meters from the food street – very convenient. Room rates range from 123 to 168 yuan, depending on personal preference. Whether it's snail noodles or other local delicacies, you can find them all here. I stayed in Liuzhou for two nights and three days, spending around 400 yuan in total (including 2 nights' accommodation, various snacks, milk tea, drinks, fruit, and city transportation). Intercity transport is not included.
All parks and museums in Liuzhou are free. The elevator ticket to Ma'anshan is 20 yuan per person for the ascent and 10 yuan per person for the descent.
5: Local transportation:
If arriving by plane, you can take 'Airport Bus Line 1' directly to 'Wuyi Road East' station. The fare is 2 yuan per person, seven stops, and you'll reach Wuxing Commercial Pedestrian Street. Taxi flag-down rate is 8 yuan. A taxi from the airport to Wuxing Commercial Street costs about 80-90 yuan during peak hours, and around 65-70 yuan normally. There are no shared bikes in Liuzhou; I recommend walking or taking the bus. Taxis are also affordable, with most trips between attractions costing under 10 yuan.
6: Carsharing:
Liuzhou is China's automobile industry base. Two-seater electric cars similar to 'Smart' cars are everywhere – you can hop in and go. Parking is free for these two-seaters in the city center, which is very convenient. The cost of traveling between attractions won't exceed a taxi fare. If you have a driver's license, I suggest you bring it and download an app called 'Warmcar' before departure. Once you register and verify according to the instructions, you can start your self-drive tour of Liuzhou.
If you're staying in Liuzhou for more than two nights, I recommend taking a trip to nearby 'Sanjiang' first. I believe you'll get a pleasant surprise there.
Happy travels, fellow travelers! Thank you for your likes and comments. I hope you'll continue to support me. If you have any questions, feel free to send me a private message. Thank you again.
