Recently, the famous brand of Liuzhou snail noodles from Guangxi, “Luo Laodie”, grandly opened at No. 9 Jixiang Road, Liangqing District, Nanning, adding a new place for the “stinky treasure” fans in Nanning who love snail noodles to enjoy their noodles.
The main guests attending the opening ceremony included the directors, managers, shareholders, and customer representatives of the “Luo Laodie” brand store. They witnessed the opening ceremony and participated in the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Every city often changes due to its food, and different cities have different food symbols. Guangxi’s rice noodles are already famous worldwide: Nanning’s Laoyou noodles, Guilin rice noodles, and the nationwide popular Liuzhou snail noodles. “Eating noodles” represents the daily enjoyment of Guangxi people; once you get into it, you can’t stop.
However, nobody expected the explosion of snail noodles. Also a Guangxi delicacy, almost every city in Guangxi has its own flavor of rice noodles. Yet among dozens of rice noodle varieties, snail noodles managed to become the top, sweeping the nation and becoming the number one internet-famous instant food in terms of sales.
From street stalls to proper venues, from freshly cooked in local specialty shops to packaged instant versions, snail noodles have become a label of Guangxi local cuisine.
Since its launch, Luo Laodie snail noodles have won multiple honors: in 2020, Luo Laodie obtained the “Guangxi Intangible Cultural Heritage Brand” logo; in the 2020 Liuzhou Pre-packaged Snail Noodles Public Reputation Selection, Luo Laodie won the “Network Popularity Award”; in 2021, Luo Laodie won the championship in Hangzhou’s first “Most Delicious Snail Noodles” competition.
Now, Luo Laodie has become the president unit of the Liuzhou Snail Noodles Association and a unit of Guangxi Intangible Cultural Heritage Inheritors.
As the opening ceremony ended, the dense crowd of onlookers outside the store rushed into “Luo Laodie” all at once. The first to second floors are their store, with the second floor mainly displaying Luo Laodie products. The first floor is very spacious and bright with street-facing windows.
Through the glass window, you can see the chefs in the kitchen preparing snail noodles.
Although it just opened, the store was already packed with customers who came by reputation. Many people holding a bowl of snail noodles couldn’t find a seat, showing that “Luo Laodie” is indeed deeply loved and pursued by diners.
Soon, our noodles were ready. Several pieces of golden crispy fried tofu skin lay on the white and thin rice noodles, with a pile of slightly yellowed pickled bamboo shoots, black fungus, green pickled beans, red crispy peanuts, etc., adding color. We added a pig trotter and a duck web. Such a vibrant and fragrant dish made others drool.
Before enjoying this bowl of “Luo Laodie” snail noodles, take a sip of soup. In Guangxi, eating noodles is an indispensable ritual and a “respect” for the noodles. The broth, slowly simmered with snails, has a rich aroma. One sip wakes you up, opens your taste buds.
Pick up a bundle of noodles with chopsticks, put it in your mouth, and then slurp. The sour, spicy, fresh, and fragrant flavors of snail noodles all enter your mouth with that one bundle.
Truly a “slurp into the soul”. The taste is incredibly fresh and delicious. The sweetness of the broth, the freshness of the snails, and the spiciness of the chili oil give the smooth noodles a soul, making you slurp one mouthful after another, unable to stop...
Pickled bamboo shoots are the soul of snail noodles. They are fragrant without being rotten, appetizing when smelled. One bite is fresh, fragrant, and tender, making you want to eat more. You can’t help but go to the seasoning station to add more bamboo shoots!
The spicy and crispy pig trotter is very large, full of collagen. The skin is fried crispy, and when bitten, it is soft and flavorful, not greasy at all.
The soup of “Luo Laodie” snail noodles emphasizes “freshness”. It carries the freshness of snails and the rich flavor of broth, making the soup extremely “fresh”. I felt so thrilled that I even finished the soup, drinking it all the way to the bottom.
Satisfied eating, enjoyable slurping, comfortable spiciness. Overall, the taste of “Luo Laodie” snail noodles is good. “Stinky treasure” fans who like it, don’t forget to come and taste!
