Liuzhou Diary: Hi, Let's Have a Bowl of Snail Rice Noodles
My husband is a passionate snail rice noodles lover, and my daughter is an extremely crazy travel enthusiast. We have already visited many popular travel cities. This time, we chose the lesser-known Liuzhou. As a tourist city, it is indeed not famous enough, but as the home of snail rice noodles, it is quite renowned.
Before departure, I had already booked a car and hotel. The car was booked from a rental company, with pickup and return at Liuzhou Station. We rented a Toyota Allion.
There are many hotels in Liuzhou. We stayed at one very famous hotel, the Yunding Hotel, which is super tall, allowing us to overlook the city from the 70th floor. The other was the Golden Crown Berman Hotel. This hotel also has a great location, close to surrounding small attractions, shopping malls, and so on.
When we arrived in Liuzhou on the first day, it was 1 PM. After picking up the car, we drove directly to Xihuan Feizai Snail Rice Noodles. As soon as we arrived in Liuzhou, we had a bowl of snail rice noodles. My husband said he felt very satisfied inside.
To be honest, the snail rice noodles in Liuzhou are indeed more delicious. There are real snails in it, and the broth is especially fresh and tender. Paired with the flavor of the rice noodles themselves, it's extremely tasty.
We ordered the spicy snail rice noodles, which were very flavorful. My husband also said that he feels he will be even more dissatisfied with the snail rice noodles from our hometown in the future.
After eating the snail rice noodles, we immediately went to the Bailian Cave Museum. This museum is very interesting. Actually, when traveling, don't always think about going to the provincial museum; some small museums are excellent opportunities to understand a city in depth. The Bailian Cave Museum is a very good ancient human site, where you can feel the history of human development.
As soon as we arrived at the museum, we saw its grandeur. There is a large square in front, where you can play for a while.
After going inside, we saw this desert rose. It's probably a carving, but it's so beautiful, my friends.
The highlight is the beauty that follows. The fossils I absolutely love appeared, along with ginkgo leaves. I read an article and learned that ginkgo trees existed since the age of dinosaurs. The important point is that ginkgo is also a lonely survivor. Its relatives have almost all gone extinct, only the ginkgo continues to live on.
In addition, we also saw fossils of ancient marine life. Although many animals have gone extinct, these fossils have been preserved as traces of their former existence. Nature always uses various codes to let you understand the past lives of animals.
We spent about two hours at the museum. After leaving the museum, we immediately went to Chunji Roast Goose. This Chunji Roast Goose is very famous. We had eaten at one in Yangshuo before, and actually, the one here is also super delicious. I told my husband, I've been longing for roast goose for so long, and finally I can eat it. It's my 'wish fulfilled' on this trip.
Chunji Roast Goose also has fern root noodles, which are extremely delicious. We went there at around 4 PM, and there were still few people. So the dining environment was quite quiet.
After eating the fern root noodles and roast goose, all three of us were very satisfied. After the meal, we continued driving, aiming to watch the musical fountain in the evening.
On the way, we passed by 'Jiahe Road'. Is this name supposed to be literary or something?
We arrived at Jiangbin Park. It was still early, so we played around in the park for a while. The big park is really beautiful, with many children playing in the water nearby. I really love this kind of attraction. One by one, the kids got into the water, and all you could hear was the sound of their laughter.
This is what childhood should be like for children—carefree and joyful. And so, we finally waited for the musical fountain. The fountain was super beautiful.
The musical fountain is located between Liujiang Bridge and Wenhui Bridge. The water sprays super high here; according to the introduction, the water reaches 100 meters. But whether the actual height is 100 meters is uncertain. Note that there are only two shows of the musical fountain every day: at 8 PM and 9 PM, and each fountain display lasts only 10 minutes. If you want to come here to see the fountain, be sure to arrive early.
I also saw some people taking boats on the river. The boats would specially dock here during the musical fountain show, allowing everyone to view the fountain from a closer distance.
The colors of the musical fountain also change constantly: blue, yellow, green, purple, and many others. Colorful and extremely beautiful.
After watching the musical fountain, we went to the Confucian Temple, passing by a bridge on the way. The colorful bridge was gorgeous.
By the way, the Confucian Temple is also worth seeing. The night view is great, mainly because the lighting here is so beautiful, looking very grand.
Actually, Liuzhou's night scenery is not inferior to Guilin's. Many buildings here are super beautiful.
After seeing the scenery, we went to eat beef offal. This Tianshan Beef Offal is particularly famous. I had watched the show 'Sisters: Towards the Direction of Midnight Snacks', which featured this beef offal place.
The cold mixed beef offal tastes particularly good. I recommend it to everyone.
After eating the beef offal, we continued to look for more food. This time we ate at Shuinan Zengjie Soy Milk. This soy milk shop also had a long queue. Actually, if a small shop does good business, it can make a lot of money.
Having soy milk and fried dough sticks as a late-night snack was something I had never imagined before. After all, all the soy milk and fried dough sticks I've had in my life were in the morning.
Additionally, the mochi and pastries in the shop are also good. The key point is that the value for money is really high. The three of us spent less than 30 yuan here.
On the second day, we mainly visited museums. The two museums in Liuzhou are both worth visiting, especially the Industrial Museum, which is absolutely perfect for a stroll. Through these museums, you can get a more comprehensive understanding of the city's economic changes.
In the morning, we first went to the food market. Strolling through a city's food market makes you feel like you have integrated into the local people's lives. Another reason I like food markets is that almost everyone there is a local, all speaking the local dialect, which sounds very warm.
Liuzhou Museum and Liuhou Park are very close. So after visiting the museum, you can also take a stroll in Liuhou Park, which is a kind of complete relaxation.
