5 Days 4 Nights Guilin + Liuzhou: Girlfriends with Child Departing from Xinxiang, Henan
(More comfortable than high-speed rail, you can have a good night's sleep, and mainly you can take one less day off work)
After returning from Elephant Trunk Hill, we strolled around Jingjiang Prince's Mansion, which was just behind our accommodation, a few minutes' walk. Coming out of there, we found ourselves at East-West Alley, which had lots of snacks. We ordered the local specialty vinegar blood duck at a restaurant called Guiyan. It was quite tasty, but the owner warned that out-of-towners might not be used to it.
After dinner, we cycled to the Sun and Moon Pagodas for photos. The lights at night were beautiful, and there were many people taking photos. Along the way, there were many street singers; the atmosphere was really great, just my style~~~ Listening to music, riding a bike, feeling the breeze β so relaxing~ Went back to sleep.
Early the next morning, we had a 2-yuan sticky rice ball, a bowl of rice noodles, then took a taxi to Yangshuo-Xingping Ancient Town. The mountain road scenery was beautiful, with sugar orange trees everywhere on the hills, adding a touch of color to the ink-wash landscape~ After about an hour, we arrived at Xingping Ancient Town bus station. We stored our luggage at a small shop next to the station and rented two electric scooters for 50 yuan. We planned to ride to the 20-yuan note background spot. The town was small, and we reached the photo spot in about ten minutes by scooter. We took many photos, then ate bamboo tube rice~ mugwort leaf cakes~ strolled around the town, and had another bowl of rice noodles. Truly, any random shop was delicious~ (Of course, the one in Guilin was still the best.) Full and done, we returned to the bus station and took a bus to Yangshuo West Street⦠Arriving in Yangshuo about forty minutes later, we took a taxi to our guesthouse, just ten minutes away.
We rested at the guesthouse until dark, then went out to explore West Street. The night made West Street both beautiful and lively. We had the local specialty beer fish~ It was pretty good, though a bit pricey~ And the local Liquan beer~ Delicious~
By the time we returned from sightseeing, it was 4 PM. We went to West Street to buy mangoes~ ate stir-fried beef~ taro~ fried rice~ Full, we went back to the guesthouse to rest for two hours. Feeling a bit bored, we spontaneously decided to see the Guilin Ancient Love show. We booked tickets against the clock, dressed up, and headed straight to the venue. It took about ten minutes by scooter, and we arrived half an hour before the show started.
Truly, you don't know until you see it β and once you see it, it's amazing! Haha~ Videos really can't capture the live spectacle! Totally worth it! A must-see!
