Guangxi Wuzhou-Liuzhou Autumn Chase Trip
[Day 1] Guangzhou - Wuzhou
[Day 2] Wuzhou - Rongshui - Liuzhou
[Day 3] Liuzhou - Guangzhou
Departing from Guangzhou, it takes about 4 hours by high-speed rail to reach Wuzhou~
Upon arriving in Wuzhou, feeling hungry, of course we first went to the famous Bingquan Soymilk Shop.
There were quite a lot of people, but after patiently queuing, it was worth it to enjoy the delicious tofu pudding.
In the afternoon, we took a small city walk at China Arcade City.
Wuzhou's arcade city left me an impression of being old.
The buildings look like from the 1930s-40s, the people look like from the 1980s-90s, and every street corner evokes memories of childhood Guangzhou—it's Enning Road, Yide Road, Zhongliu Road, and also various memories of arcades from around the world (like Penang).
The people of Wuzhou (or Guangxi?) might be keen on inheritance and promotion—we ate the most traditional old-style Cantonese cuisine and witnessed the WeChat business development of time-honored brands. But the reason I still say "might" is because they seem to constantly turn their own things into copies of others. Actually, sticking to being themselves is good enough...
It's worth mentioning that besides many snacks, the arcade city also has very good traditional Cantonese restaurants.
[Paper-wrapped Chicken] is a must-order traditional Cantonese dish. The preparation here has a richer flavor than in Guangzhou, with a stronger old-fashioned taste.
Before dinner, at sunset, you can go to the riverside to capture the stunning sunset at Yuanjiang Lihang.
The next day, we rented a car and drove to Liuzhou. Along the way, we passed a mix of rural and small-town landscapes, which also had many internet-famous small spots worth visiting. However, this was also the start of our "debunking internet celebrity spots" theme.
For example, the [Yubu Miao Village Scenic Area] is called the "Rongshui Maldives" on some platforms.
Does being able to play in water equal the Maldives? Does the emerald green water equal the Maldives?
If we look purely from a Miao village perspective, this village, though small, is actually not bad—it's quite cool and beautiful. But if we add the Maldives label, we suggest it's really unnecessary. Some influencers should not artificially elevate these fresh little spots. To be honest, the people of Rongshui don't need much. Those who are simple and easily satisfied tend to be relatively happier. That is the shining point of the Rongshui people—truly wonderful!
The second absurd "debunked internet celebrity spot" was really ridiculous, I was speechless.
They turned a former mining pit into a pool and called it Keketuohai! Can you believe it?
And if you look back, you can see a "no man's land"! Ridiculous to the extreme!
But the road to get there was quite rough. If you don't seek novelty, we really suggest not coming!
Actually, the mountains in Guangxi are very photogenic.
Any small village you come across on the mountain can reveal stunning terraced fields.
For example, we set our location to [Yuanbao Mountain]. After passing through the residential area and arriving at the terraced fields, we saw a vast expanse of beautiful terraced fields.
Of course, the premise is to have a skilled driving companion.
In the evening, we arrived at [Daohua Piaoxiang].
This is a rice demonstration area of the Mulao ethnic group, likely a product of rural revitalization.
In the endless rice fields, we encountered a breathtaking sunset. It was truly beautiful.
Arriving in Liuzhou means entering a big city.
A must-visit is definitely the [Liuzhou Industrial Museum], where you can learn about the development of Liuzhou's industry—full of knowledge!
Also recommended is the [Bailian Cave Site Museum]. You can look and learn about knowledge,
but mainly the architectural design here is quite beautiful, and many beautiful internet influencers are taking photos.
In the evening, remember to go up [Ma'an Mountain] to capture the panoramic sunset of Liuzhou~
For dinner, we went to [Chunji Roasted Goose], a must-eat old-brand Cantonese restaurant in Liuzhou, Guangxi.
The city's nightlife is also quite charming.
Remember to squeeze in to see the musical fountain by the Liujiang River~
The three-day-two-night happy journey ended. The itinerary, combining city and countryside, was rich in experience. High-speed rail whooshed us back to Guangzhou~
