"Amazing Liuzhou" Cultural Tourism Art Week Coming to Taiyuan, Shanxi
From November 13 to 18, the 2023 "Amazing Liuzhou" Cultural Tourism Art Week, organized by the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Department of Culture and Tourism and the Liuzhou Municipal People's Government, and executed by the Liuzhou Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism Bureau, will arrive in Taiyuan, Shanxi. Through events such as the "Winter Tour to Guangxi, Amazing Liuzhou" cultural tourism promotion conference and the "Landscapes with Dreams, Drama in Guangxi" featured theatrical tour, the natural beauty and cultural charm of magnificent Guangxi and amazing Liuzhou will be showcased to the people of Shanxi.
Both Liuzhou and Taiyuan are affectionately known as "Dragon City," sharing deep historical ties. The two cities boast distinctive tourism resources and serve as important source markets for each other. Notably, Liu Zongyuan, a native of Shanxi, once served as the prefect of Liuzhou. On November 13, the "Winter Tour to Guangxi, Amazing Liuzhou" cultural tourism promotion conference will take place at the Bingzhou Hotel in Taiyuan. It will launch premium travel routes for the campaign and introduce cultural tourism preferential policies. Through immersive situational presentations, special artistic performances, and displays of intangible cultural heritage creative products, the conference will introduce Shanxi residents to Liuzhou's iconic tourism calling cards โ "a flower, a river, a car, and a bowl of noodles" โ inviting them to explore amazing Liuzhou.
Liuzhou is not only a renowned industrial city but also a national historical and cultural city. The promotion conference will also feature a presentation on Liuzhou's industries, highlighting its industrial strengths, investment potential, and business environment, actively encouraging more entrepreneurs to invest and expand in Liuzhou.
During the Art Week, two spectacular productions directed by Zhang Jigang will grace the stage at the Shanxi Grand Theatre: the Guangxi ethnic music and dance spectacle "The Great Song of Bagui" and "To Youth," China's first musical themed on industrial aid. Staged on November 13โ14, "The Great Song of Bagui" has been honored with three major awards: the National Stage Art "Top Ten Masterpieces" award, the 11th Wenhua Grand Prize from the Ministry of Culture, and the "Audience Favorite" award at the 7th China Arts Festival. Performed continuously for two decades without waning popularity, it presents the colorful lives of Guangxi's various ethnic groups through dazzling song and dance. From November 17 to 18, the musical "To Youth" tells the story of Shanghai workers who answered the call in the 1950s to aid Liuzhou's industrial development in Guangxi, dedicating their entire lives. It profoundly extols the lofty spirit of New China's workers, epitomized by those in Liuzhou, who "gave their youth, then their whole lives, and then their descendants," carving a historic monument to Liuzhou's industrial glory and dreams.
