In the verdant month of May, go seek out a peaceful forest! This is the poetic dwelling for a weekend escape. Just a two-hour drive from downtown to Niutuo, at the 38th parallel north premium hot spring zone, enjoy pure natural mineral hot springs comparable to those in Japan, with blue skies, white clouds, fresh air, and a private villa all to yourself. All the week’s fatigue melts away as you wander through green woods and return to nature’s tranquility. Soak in private hot springs in Niutuo, pick fresh cherries; the villa area offers changing scenery with every step, the forest park is beautifully scenic, and there's a huge dreamy children’s playground—perfect for family fun and relaxation!

Niutuo Hot Spring Peacock City is located 30 km south of Beijing’s new airport, in Gu'an, Niutuo Town, right off the Daguang Expressway Niutuo exit. It’s a hot spring area with a superior urban ecological environment, on the 38th parallel north hot spring belt, featuring fluorosilicate medical thermal mineral springs and a low-density community. A vast forest park and children’s playground, along with new Chinese-style villa courtyards of exceptional quality, make it ideal for a weekend getaway with friends. Each home has constant-temperature hot spring water at 45°C–50°C piped in, so you can enjoy nature’s goodness anytime. This is one of the world’s four major heat-rich field hot springs, with high medical and health value. In the community, hot spring pools and living spaces are organically combined; the surroundings are lush and green, and every corner holds the beauty of life. Indoor pools, outdoor courtyard and terrace pools offer multiple ways to experience the springs, plus a hot spring swimming pool in the garden and scenic hot spring spots, so the spa experience permeates every detail of the landscape. There are also hot spring hotels and commercial facilities—great value for money!

This place feels like a hot spring town from a German fairy tale, Beijing’s own Baden-Baden. Nourished by natural thermal waters, it becomes a paradise-like wellness retreat. Here, it’s not just the scenery that unfolds freely, but the overwhelming natural spirit that rushes in. The villas here are exquisite and elegant, ingeniously blended with the garden landscape; walking among them is enchanting, and whether indoors or out, you’ll fall in love with it.

The Ming Dynasty traveler Xu Xiake once wrote a poem “Hot Spring”: 'Once the longing is fulfilled, the water is called by money, full of emotion; rising steam on bath day, heat waves surge forth. The whole body is soothed and relaxed, dispelling illness like magic; I do not envy the birds at the heavenly pool, gladly I become a hot spring person.' The beauty of hot springs is something even poetry cannot fully capture—it’s a sense of comfort and clarity that words fail. How to enjoy: It’s recommended to stay one night in a villa homestay or hot spring hotel for an easy and comfortable weekend getaway.

Transportation: The Daguang Expressway provides quick and direct access, making it within a 1-hour living circle of Greater Beijing. Route 1: From Yuquanying Bridge, take the Jingkai Expressway, then from Yufa exit get onto the Daguang Expressway, exit at Niutuo, and follow the project signs to arrive. Route 2: From Yuquanying Bridge, take the Jingkai Expressway, then follow National Highway 106 to Niutuo Bridge (do not cross the bridge), turn left, and follow the project signs. Route 3: From Beijing Yongdingmen Long-Distance Bus Station, take bus 943 to Niutuo, get off, walk south to Niutuo Bridge (do not cross), turn left, and follow the signs.

A colorful childhood is made of vast lawns, dreamy carousel horses, fun-filled games, and companions to grow up with. The Niutuo Hot Spring Peacock City Children’s Playground is the most eye-catching landmark here. Even before reaching the accommodation, kids were already clamoring to get out and play. From a distance, the carousel on the lawn is particularly striking, and this place is a hidden gem for photo ops! The currently popular 'pretend to be a runaway Disney princess' shots can be taken right here on the big lawn! It’s a playground perfect for photography, and I’m planning to bring props next time for an Instagram-worthy picnic party!

An oversized children’s playground, with vibrant blue rubber surfacing, and a refreshing international design aesthetic. You’ll encounter the Rainbow Bridge, Rainbow Tower, insect-shaped rockers, a moon swing, and a huge, healthy and safe space for play—so much fun!

The roughly 800-mu forest park is lush with vegetation, and a circular fitness track invites an active, oxygen-rich lifestyle right from your feet. Surrounded by greenery, this natural oxygen bar is a rare sight in the city. If you come in spring, there’s also a stunning sea of flowers!

A leisurely weekend for the whole family; not only does it offer a comfortable life suitable for seniors’ retirement and relaxation, but it’s also perfect for letting children’s dreams take flight. Driving from downtown Beijing is very convenient, especially for residents in the southern part of the city. It’s an absolutely fantastic destination for a family outing in the outskirts of Beijing!

Staying in the hot spring town is so relaxing that you won’t want to go home. On the way back to Beijing, you can also enjoy a parent-child picking activity! Experience nature’s wonderful bounty! If you want to pick sweet cherries, you must visit Uncle Karl’s place—the quality is superb, and you can even adopt a tree for yourself!

Uncle Karl’s Happy Farm is located in Zhoujiawu Village, Qugou Township, Gu’an County, Langfang City, Hebei Province. It’s a comprehensive park combining parent-child leisure experiences, picking, and science education. The farm features over forty varieties of special fruits and vegetables, including cherries, strawberries, tomatoes, melons, figs, watermelons, grapes, and more. Here, you and your little one can enjoy the joy of harvest, and the sunlight in the greenhouse is excellent. Under the cherry trees laden with fruit, take a set of fresh, pastoral-style photos!
