The 4th Qingshanyuan Harvest Festival Opens | Zoo, Family Adventures, Folk Performances – All-in-One Autumn Fun for Kids!

The clear, crisp autumn weather brings the joy of harvest and a sense of happy ceremony. On September 25th, the 4th Qingshanyuan Harvest Festival officially opened in Liubinbao Township, Yanqing!

It offers Beijing residents a pastoral life just a 2-hour drive from the urban area, and provides city families who 'long in the cage' with tender times to 'return to nature.' This year’s festival runs for 30 days and features six highlights: harvest landscapes, farming experiences, folk performances, a country market, an amusement park, and a mini zoo. During the National Day holiday (October 1-6), local folk artists will present special performances for visitors.

On the opening day, it attracted many local villagers and also young people and families from Beijing who made a special trip. Generations came together in joy, making this countryside paradise deep in the mountains bustling and lively.

Enjoy: Golden Fields, Celebrating the Bumper Harvest

Qingshanyuan is located in a valley 25 kilometers east of Yanqing District, Beijing. This fertile land has mountains to the north and plains to the south, rich in water and producing a variety of crops.

Golden corn kernels, shiny pumpkins, bowing millet, blushing sorghum, and ruby-like hawthorn fruits... Every year at this time, facing these generous gifts from nature, the local villagers' tradition of celebrating the harvest became the origin of the Qingshanyuan Harvest Festival.

Scenes of abundant fruits can be seen everywhere in Qingshanyuan. Various vivid displays built from corn, grains, and red lanterns depict a rich harvest and thriving prosperity, coating this small village with golden abundance and happiness.

The 11-layer Harvest Tower and flags – this is the most beautiful birthday gift from the new farmers to the motherland. There are also lifelike tractor and car corn sculptures, very practical – you can even sit on them for a power pose.

On the 'Grain Abundance' corridor, lanterns and strings of corn complement each other. On the lawn, 12 zodiac figures woven from straw rope are arranged in different poses, conveying the beautiful wish of 'each year as joyful as today, every grain a harvest.' It allows everyone to enjoy the park and participate, sharing the joy of the harvest together.

To recreate authentic rural life and provide an immersive experience for visitors of all ages, Qingshanyuan specially displays many nostalgic items during the harvest festival.

The park exhibits many pre-liberation-era old airplanes, cars, motorcycles, military equipment... all rare one-of-a-kind pieces that delight military enthusiasts.

In the Nostalgia Hall, traditional farm tools like rollers, wheelbarrows, carrying poles, stone mills, brick molds, and rice winnowing fans are on display; along with rattan baskets, willow containers, wooden shuttles, mooncake molds, fish traps, cloth shoe soles, and other old objects. They also cleverly display the 'three big items' of the older generation's wedding: old bicycles, televisions, and sewing machines...

These artifacts let children learn about their grandparents' past lives, remind parents of their own childhoods, and let elderly grandparents truly touch those bygone times, becoming a shared memory across three generations, reflecting on past bitterness and present sweetness.

Play: Every Grain Home, Be a Real Countryside Farmer

Of course, it's not just about sightseeing—you can also get your hands dirty with farm work.

In the Harvest Farm Interaction Area, you can crank an old-fashioned corn sheller and feel the satisfaction of bringing every grain home; then join your family to grind corn into flour, enjoying the joy of 'doing it yourself, reaping and eating well.'

Stroll: Country Market, Bring Countryside Goodies Home!

After all that work, it wouldn't be complete without bringing some bounty home. In this ripe, fragrant autumn, freshly harvested green agricultural products are naturally the main stars of the festival.

The country market is filled with a dazzling array of local specialties: homegrown vegetables and fruits from local farmers, wild mushrooms, handmade noodles, walnuts, hazelnuts, and other dried goods, plus locally produced organic millet and honey... Take these field-fresh treasures back to the city to share with friends and family.

(Country Market open: October 1–6)

Play: A Hundred Mu of Countryside Amusement Park, Fun Non-Stop

Qingshanyuan features a magical countryside amusement park covering over 100 mu, where you can experience animal viewing, fruit picking, camping, family and adult challenge courses, real-life CS... Visitors of all ages can have a blast here.

Notably, the park even hides a mini zoo with over twenty rare animals like alpacas, ostriches, emus, sika deer, yaks, and more. You can also get up close with bunnies and lambs. These friendly and adorable creatures make both kids and adults laugh heartily and linger.

Stay: Qingshan Yijiu, Cozy Comfort with Great Views

Qingshanyuan now has fully developed hospitality, covering food, lodging, travel, and fun. After a day of exploring, just a few steps away is the Qingshan Yijiu Boutique Homestay within the park for rest and relaxation.

This standalone building is built against the mountain, with wide-open views. Open the window and feel the valley breeze carrying the crisp scent of plants. In the deep silent night, sit by the window and see the stars, even the Milky Way rarely visible in the city.

Qingshan Yijiu Boutique Homestay offers four room types: sunny king rooms, standard king rooms, twin rooms, and tatami rooms, meeting the needs of couples, friends, families, and groups.

Staying at Qingshan Yijiu also grants free admission to the Harvest Festival park.

All dishes use safe and healthy farm ingredients, featuring local favorites like mushroom-braised chicken, Yongning tofu stew with crispy pork, freshly griddled corn cakes, and stone-ground flour pimple soup. With simple yet skilled cooking, they deliver an authentic, down-home 'taste of home.'
