Bater Linjia, of Mongol ethnicity, born on October 10, 1970 in Bortala Mongol Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang, graduated from the oil painting graduate class at the Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University.
Currently Vice Chairman of the Chinese Artists Association; Vice Chairman of the Beijing Changping Artists Association; Vice President of the China International Institute of Religious Culture; Director of the Tsinghua Art Research Institute; Vice President of the Beijing Linhuatang Academy of Calligraphy and Painting; Consultant of the Jundu Xishan Academy of Calligraphy and Painting; Member of the Gansu Branch of the China Artists Association.

Outstanding Achievements: Artistic Chronology
1990: Graduated from the fine arts class of Jinghe County Senior Vocational School, Bortala Mongol Autonomous Prefecture.
1995: Graduated from Northwest Academy of Fine Arts, received the college scholarship and the title of “Professional Model.”
1996: Worked as art editor for the publication Development of the Gansu Provincial Government; cartoon editor for Western Business News; art director at Dunhuang Film and Television Company.
1997: Works “Autumn on the Grassland” and “Spring Mist Over the Pagoda” published in Voice of the People newspaper.
1999: Work “White Pagoda” participated in the Gansu Excellent Sketch Exhibition. Same year, joined a touring joint exhibition of the First Gansu Oil Painting Invitational with oil painter Li Tanke and nine other renowned artists.
2000–2003: Studied in the advanced oil painting research class at Shanghai Normal University. During this period, created and sold numerous oil and watercolor paintings through various galleries in Shanghai.
2000: Work “A Corner of the Bazaar” won an Excellence Award in the “Love China” competition. Early in the year, Western Business News and Education World newspaper featured full-page reports on Linjia’s artistic life and painting journey. On February 14, drew a full-page Valentine’s Day cartoon for Lanzhou Evening News.
2002: Works “Morning on the Sea” and “Bustling Bortala” exhibited at Shanghai Art Museum. Shanghai Visual Arts newspaper reported on Linjia’s arduous artistic journey and published his works.
2003: Joint exhibition with renowned painter Xu Mangyao and four other painters at Shanghai Huashi Gallery.
2004: Work “Sacrament” exhibited at the Gansu Excellent Invitational Exhibition. “Bustling Bortala” was collected by an international film and television company.
2005: Work “Companion” selected for the Gansu Provincial Annual Sketch Excellent Exhibition. Same year, works “Grab the Sheep” and “Skewered Delights” published in Gansu Daily and Western Business News; the journal Gansu Education published “Bustling Bortala.”
2006: “Green – Cabbage” participated in the Gansu Provincial Art Exhibition. Appointed as a fine arts teacher at the College of Science and Technology, Lanzhou University.
2007: In April, held a ten-person oil painting joint exhibition at Dacheng Art Workshop. In October, created and painted three large murals for the Lanzhou Green Culture Expo Park exhibition hall: “Carrying Ice Up the Mountain,” “Tree Planting,” and “Nature’s Revenge.” In December, held the solo oil painting exhibition “Seven-Colored Struggle” at the Gansu Provincial Museum. In the same year, donated 150,000 RMB to the Gansu Charity List event and the Western Sunshine Schoolhouse Aid Project. Broadcast on Gansu Satellite TV, Lanzhou TV, and media radio; reported by Lanzhou Evening News, Gansu Daily, and Western Business News. Gansu Public Health News featured Linjia’s artistic path and works. Published “Linjia’s Oil Painting Collection.”
2008: In May, at Gansu Hanlong charity disaster relief auction, ten oil paintings were auctioned for hundreds of thousands of yuan, and all proceeds donated to the disaster area; widely reported by major Gansu media. Work “Happy Corner of Daheyanzi Town” collected by Gansu TV Station. Works sold to the U.S., Japan, and South Korea. At the end of the year, all oil paintings and materials stored in the studio were looted by criminals.
2009: Work “The Lost Xiangyou – Yang Ping” won an Excellence Award at the Beijing Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition.
2010: In Beijing’s “Ode to Labor” exhibition, work “Morning Melody” won a Silver Award. In August, at the Beijing “China-Japan Confucius-Mencius Culture and Art Exhibition,” work “The People’s Premier – Wen Jiabao” won a Gold Award. In September, at the Beijing “Sino-European Original Fine Works Exhibition,” work “Struggle” won a Gold Award. 2011: In April, invited by the Dezhou municipal government of Shandong Province to participate in a sketching activity of Tsinghua Academy of Fine Arts graduate students and faculty; works collected by the Dezhou Art Museum and Museum. In May, organized oil painting creation for the 7th World Strawberry Art Festival in Changping District, Beijing, inviting famous artists and Tsinghua Academy graduate students to create. In June, oil painting “Voice of the Heart” participated in the 90th anniversary of the Party exhibition and won a Gold Award.
2011: Held the graduate graduation exhibition at the Tsinghua Academy of Fine Arts Art Museum. In October, participated in the “The Party in My Heart” calligraphy and painting exhibition.
2012–2015: Hired as the Art Director of the China Beijing Agricultural Carnival. In 2012, participated in the Shengyuan calligraphy and painting joint exhibition at the Bird’s Nest, Beijing.
2012: In June, participated in the Beijing Employee Art and Calligraphy Excellent Works Exhibition.
2013: Invited to participate in the second Young Oil Painters Joint Exhibition “Spring · Blooming.”
2013: Participated in the 9th Art Festival’s “Painting New Visions, Writing Magnificent Scrolls” exhibition and won a Bronze Award.
2013: Participated in the joint exhibition of Tsinghua Academy of Fine Arts graduate students and faculty at the Changping TV Tower Exhibition Hall.
2013: Appointed as Vice President at the Tsinghua Academy of Fine Arts Station in Beijing; in July, participated in the Tsinghua Academy contemporary oil painting creative artists joint exhibition.
2014: Invited by Boao Art Network to participate in the third Oil Painting Joint Exhibition “Blooming.” In Beijing, participated in the 30th Poly China Fine Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition; work “Stone Immortal Bestows Longevity” sold for 57,500 RMB.
2014: Participated in the Beijing National Day Calligraphy and Painting Excellent Works Exhibition.
2015: On February 8, named “Caring Artist” in the Welcoming Spring, Hanhai Sentiment event.
2015: Participated in the Beijing Literary Federation’s activity to visit and console old revolutionaries through calligraphy and painting going to the countryside.
2015: On September 1, at the Huafu Club, No. 8 Xiaoyun Road, Beijing, met with Ms. Jialan Hui, Director of the Chennault Aviation Military Museum in the U.S., at the launch of the work “Return.” At year’s end, participated in the 70th Anniversary of the Victory of WWII commemorative exhibition in the U.S.
2015: The Beijing Municipal Federation of Literary and Art Circles published two full pages of Bater Linjia’s oil paintings in Changping newspaper.
2016: In January, participated in the Beijing Welcoming Spring Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition; work “Satisfaction” won a Bronze Award.
2016: On May 9, participated in the first Beijing Oil Painting Exhibition (on the ground floor of the Broadcasting Building); work “Expectation” won First Prize.
2018: August, “Ink Rhythm of Mountains and Rivers” Beijing calligraphy and painting exhibition.
2018: September, Jundu Xishan Academy calligraphy and painting exhibition.
