China is home to countless scenic and historic spots, but across the north and south, Yi County is perhaps the most low-key of them all. Autumn in Yi County carries a seasonal hint of sultriness, so a mountain hike is best tackled in the cool morning.
Langya Mountain is a renowned 'red tourism' site. As soon as we arrived, we saw the famous statue of the Five Heroes of Langya Mountain standing before us, with an enormous red flag looking even more brilliant against the emerald hills.

You need a ticket to enter Langya Mountain. The standard adult ticket is around 78 yuan, quite reasonable for a scenic area. However, Langya Mountain rises 1,105 meters above sea level, and reaching the summit takes plenty of time and energy. So once inside, you can choose between taking the cable car or hiking up on foot.
We climbed to the top and saw the memorial tower.
My friends wanted to reach the peak, so they took the first option — cable car, both up and down. A one-way ride costs 40 yuan, and a round trip is 70 yuan.

After exploring the rugged and precipitous Langya Mountain in the morning, the afternoon called for the rippling waters of Yishui Lake.
Yishui Lake is now a national 4A-level scenic area, located 25 kilometers from Yi County. It features not only shimmering, crystalline waters but also an undulating chain of hills. Gazing into the distance, it truly is a landscape where mountains enfold the lake and the lake embraces the mountains — an exquisite picture of lush hills and lucid waters.
We booked our Yishui Lake tickets and boat tickets in advance: 110 yuan and 80 yuan respectively, which felt quite fair. We walked all the way through a colorful windmill corridor, enjoying the lake and mountain scenery from the boat, immersed in a serene world and marveling at the masterful work of nature.

And so ended the day. Though this is a record on paper, words can barely capture a thousandth of the firsthand experience.
