Mentioning all this, you're probably itching to visit Corn Adventure Village already, aren't you?
Corn was originally cultivated in South America, introduced to the Ningxia region of China in the late Ming Dynasty, and only widely planted nationwide in the mid-to-late Qing Dynasty. So how did today's Corn Adventure Village come into being?
Born of the pandemic, this year, as the cultural tourism industry was generally hit by COVID-19, the Baiyue Lianxiang team sought new opportunities in crisis and opened up a new landscape amid changes. Centered on corn, the staple grain of the Taihang Mountains, they planned and built the Corn Adventure Village Ecological Farm, driving Lianxiang·Taihang Water Town into another round of transformation and upgrading.
A modern poet once described corn like this:
‘Corn, is it sugarcane or grain?
Shaped like a swaddled bamboo shoot clinging to its mother.
Its silken husk blends with cicada wings,
Golden tresses rival any green-eyed beauty.
In fertile soil, farmers’ toil raises yield;
As prices rise, it lifts families from poverty.
Stripped bare, its beauty is complete:
Every kernel a pearl, all heart.’
Corn has long been known as a longevity food, rich in protein, fat, vitamins, trace elements, fiber, and more, holding great potential for developing highly nutritious, functional foods.
Get close to nature, find your happy childhood at Corn Adventure Village, witness spring blossoms, and understand the rhythm of autumn harvest and winter storage.
In this beautiful countryside, nestled between mountains and water, in this temple of corn, let’s have a joyful close encounter with maize.
On September 19, Corn Adventure Village joyfully opened its gates.
Intangible cultural heritage shows, floral parades, blindfolded corncob tossing, slide tug-of-war, a poverty-alleviation farm produce market… These rich cultural and agricultural experiences offered visitors brand-new delights, showcasing how people from old revolutionary areas celebrate harvests and embrace a moderately prosperous life.
Yi County is an old revolutionary base and a major tourism county; in 2006, it was named a ‘Millennium Ancient County’ by the United Nations.
Along the Yishui River, verifiable human history dates back to the Beifudi prehistoric culture 8,000 years ago.
Since Lianxiang Taihang Water Town took root in Yi County in 2016, it has been dedicated to preserving Chinese folk culture and building a national rural tourism brand, focusing on integrating agriculture, culture, and tourism to create a brand for China’s rural tourism industry.
Over the years, the scenic area has continuously innovated; the Lianxiang Folk Custom Village, B&B Village, Xiangtao Yard educational farm, and other sections have opened one after another, becoming hugely popular with visitors.
According to preliminary statistics, it has received over ten million visits cumulatively and earned honors such as ‘National Tourism Poverty Alleviation Demonstration Project’ and ‘China National Tourism Rural Revitalization Destination.’
And now, the most down-to-earth, beloved, and natural Corn Village has opened!

Seeing the lively opening of Corn Adventure Village, you still need me to show you around, right?
During the opening celebration, besides watching splendid folk performances and sharing the joy of harvest, I also took part in a popcorn-catching contest, which brought back sweet childhood memories of eating popcorn, savoring the fragrant sweetness of bursting corn.
Stepping into Corn Adventure Village, the large square before you is the Golden Drying Ground, a venue for activities and a place to bask in the joy of autumn.

The countryside train is a highlight here. Shaped like an ear of corn, with a cute yellow locomotive, it chugs around the old village’s courtyards and through the fields into the distance.
If you miss the mini train, you haven’t truly visited Corn Village.
Shennong Market offers plenty of tasty treats and fun. Here, kids can try fire-starting by drilling wood, experiencing ancient wisdom and patience, and learning the delight of reaping rewards after effort.
The God of Cookery Mud Kiln is even more fun: you can roast corn and sweet potatoes here. In short, autumn’s bounty can be cooked in this earthen kiln to experience the simplest, most authentic countryside flavors.
Beifudi · Fuxin’s Hometown is the 8,000-year-old farming civilization I mentioned earlier. It features semi-subterranean dwellings, built by ancestors to escape natural disasters and wild beasts. Inside, there are beds and cooking stoves—truly a rural retreat, the most down-to-earth of homes.
The Fantasy Golden Village adventure zone has loads to do, but what drew me most is the Giant’s Dining Table. Fancy trying a meal with giants? Sit high on oversized chairs, overlook the entire Corn Village, and spot which corners you haven’t yet explored.
Of course, the maze-like slides are a kids’ favorite. Climb up, pick the most thrilling chute, and slide down to squeals of speed and sheer delight.
There’s also archery, blindfolded corn tossing, and more. While playing, you’ll find yourself edging toward the rafting area nestled between hills and water.
Talking about adventure, let’s see who’s the bravest. Between the rafting zone and the archery range stands an insta-famous swing—come and swing your autumn hopes and dreams into the air.
The swing soars above a sea of flowers, into the beauty of the season.
The rafting at Corn Adventure Village is the most enchanting I’ve ever seen. Backed by mountains and embraced by water, the elegant peaks are mirrored in the stream, while the water’s grace sets off the hills’ beauty. Drifting through this living painting, you become part of the landscape.
As the seasons shift, no matter which season you raft, you and I are figures within the picture.
Strolling along a flower-lined path, passing carts laden with pumpkins, under the glow of the setting sun, we entered the Cute Pet Home and made friends up close with little rabbits, alpacas, handsome horses, and goats.
The animals here are clean and adorable, unafraid of people and never shy, friendly to every visitor. It’s clear the keepers put their hearts into it. These lovable little lives are spending their happiest moments in Corn Adventure Village.
With so many fun spots, Beautiful Corn Adventure Village keeps children laughing so joyfully they’d rather not go home. Strolling around is delightful, but a family cycling trip is probably even happier, because the village carts have a child’s seat right up front—the absolute best seat, with the loveliest view.
