The Shanwaiyuan Duyichu Farmhouse is situated in the Xishenggou National AAA Scenic Area, 38 km north of Tang County, Baoding City. The scenic area is a 14-li (approx. 7 km) gorge, where flying springs and waterfalls abound, streams flow all year round, and nine picturesque dragon pools are scattered throughout. The steep cliffs are adorned with countless stalactites in various shapes, while azaleas, crabapples, kudzu vines, and shrubs fill the valley, creating a scene reminiscent of southern China.
Baoding cuisine is northern-style, rich and full-bodied. The inn's specialties include stewed free-range chicken, braised wild rabbit, and wild badger, along with a variety of fresh wild greens and farmhouse dishes. All are delicious and reasonably priced. The restaurant can seat up to 200 diners.
Recommended nearby attractions: Quansheng Gorge, Longtan Lake, Xiangshui Creek, and Pangu Little Jiangnan, where you can take in the splendid beauty of the motherland! The nearby Tanghe River rafting is also a must-do activity. From Beijing: Take the Jingzhu Expressway, then the Jingkun Expressway, exit at Mancheng, and drive west along Baolai Road through Shenbei and Shennan to reach Xishenggou Scenic Area (total 182 km, about 2 hours' drive).
From Tianjin: Take Jinbao Expressway to Baoding, then head west along Baolai Road through Shenbei and Shennan to Xishenggou Scenic Area (total 200 km, about 2 hours 10 minutes).
From Baoding: Head west through Shunping County to Shennan and then to Xishenggou Scenic Area (total 60 km, about 1 hour).
From Baoding: Alternatively, pass through Mancheng County, then drive west along Baolai Road via Shenbei and Shennan to Xishenggou Scenic Area (total 60 km, about 1 hour).
From Shijiazhuang to Tang County: 90 km in total. Take the Jingshen Expressway, exit at Dingzhou, follow National Highway 107 to Wangjing, then head to Tang County and take Baofu Road. Alternatively, from Dingzhou go via Quyang to Baofu Road.
