Manshanju Farmstay at Shidu, Fangshan, Beijing: Riverside Living by the Juma River, Savor the Crispness of Autumn!
Fangshan Manshanju is a rural guesthouse that brings together tourism, dining, fruit picking, one-fen land cultivation, entertainment, and more. Manshanju is a small courtyard, a dream of countryside living. Located by the Juma River in Zhangfang Town, Fangshan District, southwest of Beijing, it enjoys excellent transport links. Nearby attractions include Shidu Scenic Area, Leyin Silver Beach rafting, and Yunju Temple. Just a hundred meters away, the Song-Liao Fengyun Ridge Scenic Area is about to open. The guesthouse can host family gatherings, parent-child activities, team building, and offers barbecue and iron-pot stew. The owner always upholds the rural life philosophy of 'return to simplicity, back to nature,' letting every guest enjoy a uniquely peaceful time.
Bring your kids and a hoe to experience the joy of pastoral labor: planting vegetables, watering, and later tasting the sweet, pure green produce. Children running through the fields will quickly get to know many plants rarely seen in the city and can try their hand at growing things. It’s perfect for family outings and also a great spot for camping and team development. Or, go explore the fleeting pleasures of the mountains and woods. That’s a fine choice too.
As the sunlight shifts, penetrating the courtyard walls, life in the mountains becomes a light, gentle song. Sunlight dapples the yard, and the hidden groves beyond the walls are serene, calm, compassionate, and pure-hearted—embracing the soil and nature, with beautiful flowers and lovely people. Rise with the sun, rest when it sets. Brew a pot of soul-soothing tea, rinse the cups, and let the sleeves drift—between movement and stillness, wash away the weariness and dust of worldly hustle.
Rooms are spacious, decorated in Chinese style, with ornate ceiling lights dazzling the bedroom and bright floor-to-ceiling windows. At night, lying in bed, you’ll drift off contentedly to the chirping of birds and insects.
There’s a kitchen and dining room. Three meals are provided, at your own expense, but if you’d like to cook a few of your own specialties, you’re welcome to do so. We can help as kitchen hands. The things you enjoyed eating and playing with in childhood—you’ll find them all here. It gives food lovers plenty of room to show their skills.
In the early morning, wake to birdsong and insect hum. Stand in a meditative stance, sit quietly, breathe—a beautiful day begins by awakening the body’s vitality. Manshanju embraces nature; here at Xiudegu, you can quietly enjoy a spell of farming-and-reading time, a true spiritual retreat. Manshanju springs up like bamboo shoots before people’s eyes. It reflects travelers’ longing for life and holds an inclusive heart for visitors. All encounters are reunions after long partings. Let life return to its authentic state, where body and soul meet unexpectedly.
